  1. ok, believe i have to stop here....still wondering, how manny interesting books would remain unread based on similar views..... YES
  2. didn`t read any reaction about the content (personal things etc) here until the very moment - the only topic discussed reg the book`s was.......it`s TITLE....
  3. while reading some of the comments reg the forthcoming book`s title or Art Pepper in general I`m wondering, whether the discussion regarding the book`s content (or some of Art Pepper`s recordings) will be as "passionate"......whatever will be, discussions like these for sure are at the same time priceless marketing to up book sales.......
  4. thanx for checking ubu .....vaguely remembered it the same way........
  5. just pn`d you back !!
  6. Great performance "down there" for sure.... so, you saw it ! You lucky, I had other commitments and just made it to catch the last two tunes of Dexter. Too bad I didn´t see Art Pepper. I remember somebody told me that he played a rare "Dein ist mein ganzes Herz" or something like that, for the Austrian audience of course. .. "Dein ist mein ganzes Herz" either already was (just too busy to check) or became thereafter part of his song line-up.....via the intenet you most likely can find the recording of a "Walter Richard Langer" Radio Jazz Show dedicated to this 981 Velden concert........
  7. Not sure about "Jazzland", as I was not a frequent visitor there......retrospectively seen a pity.......
  8. I believe he had a "viennese" gig billed as Bill Hardman-Junior Cook 5tet in 1987, me believe taking place at "TU Wien"......memories......
  9. YES. btw each and every musician creating in his whole career at least one effort comparable to (selected randomly) will always find my appreciation.
  10. didn`t think so ;-) .......just wanted to mention this two recordings.......of course i remember your weak spot for the Haden/Jones duo`s (as my weak spot is firmly in the Haden/Hawes duo`s hands)....
  11. although not being a dedicated Keith Jarrett follower, "Jasmine" actually sounds pretty good to these ears......and regarding Charlie Haden piano duos, for sure more than worth a mention are Charlie Haden/Hampton Hawes "As long there is Music" (Artists House) 1978 Charlie Haden/Denny Zeitlin "Time remembers one Time once" (ECM) 1982
  12. mandatory purchase - another worthy effort from the "best widow in jazz" !! I'll be buying a copy but.......I just wish she could have found a better title for it. there was an ongoing discussion (on her site and via facebook, me believe) about the title - but it`s obviously her view on the lifetime spent with a drug addicted artist and she stayed with it....
  13. mandatory purchase - another worthy effort from the "best widow in jazz" !!
  14. Probably ACE could help us out with a decent reissue............
  15. Andy Gonzalez on bass, Steve Berrios on drums and Jerry Gonzalez - reminding firmly about his excellence reg this instrument - on percussion really get things going here......
  16. my bad - my previous longer absence from this board as an active member made me seemingly forget about those guidelines............
  17. xxxxxxxxxx xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
  18. the version offered years ago via board member Ubu`s blog didn`t feature said limitationes to such extent (at least to my ears.......) btw the blog featured also an aprox 20 minutes version of "There Will Never Be Another You" recorded two days earlier to the Graz Concert on November 10th, 1966 @Konserthuset Stockholm
  19. Despite some limitations soundwise the 1966 Trio performance Rollins - Meritt - Roach is outstanding, extra worth to mention being Meritt`s bass playing...............
