  11. based on the excellent Pastoral Symphony i know, these seems to be a must buy....but not for the faint hearted for sure....
  12. A gem, for sure. And what a nice selection of pieces. Only slight drawback IIRC is that John Heard's bass is picked up in a rather boomy manner. sounds like this being a consensus "must buy" !?!

  20. Speaking of Guido Balestracci, this fabulous original Symphonia release was reissued on Pan Classics recently : Highly recommended (also the recording itself is stunning....) !!
  21. this looks interesting indeed - there are not too many Somis recordings, I believe the was a CD on the Symphonia label featuring some of the violin sonatas.....but again, out of memory..... Edit : the Symphonia CD as mentioned before features inter alias the following : Sonata for violin & continuo in A minor, Op 1/1 - Giovanni Lorenzo Somis Sonata for violin & continuo in C major, Op 6/4 - Giovanni Battista Somis
