Hey, another beer snob who admits to liking Pabst.
-
Being that I live in Arizona, I watch PAC-10 basketball. I know they are a 'nothing' team, but I was curious as to whether the Washington Huskies would make the NCAA Tournament this year. It appears they did.
-
I'm grinning as well... and enjoying the conversation. I always find it interesting, when I admit to actually liking PBR and Old Milwaukee (which I do, when in the right mood), the reactions and opinions I get from other beer connoisseurs. Yes, I know and appreciate a top-quality beer. At the same time, I believe the cheap American beers are equally as good as the higher-priced cheap American beers (such as Coors, Bud, and Miller). I'd choose an Old Milwaukee over a Corona or Heineken, most any day.

Whoops! I've been found out.

I like beer. All kinds of beer. I went through a period of liking/trying various American Microbrews. Then I drifted to the European imports and enjoyed the hell out of them. Pilsner Urquell is one of my favorites as a result. Also Guinness. Recently, I've been investigating/sampling the cheap American mass-market beers. I'll admit to liking Pabst Blue Ribbon and Old Milwaukee. There is a certain something about the Old Milwaukee that seems good to me. I believe the Old Milwaukee to be a good beer, low-priced and mass-marketed or not. If I want a top-quality beer, of course, I'd still be more interested in a European import versus a can of Old Milwaukee. When I'm in the mood for cheap and quantity, however, Old Milwaukee is my brew of choice. Got opinions?

Trivial: yes. But, still a good topic of conversation on a jazz bulletin board. And, fun to get the opinions of others as to why Mosaic does the things they do. I'd never have noticed the odd mouthpiece attached to the trumpet on Roy Eldridge Mosaic if it had not been for the discussion on this Board.

It'd be cool to see Blue Note include both the mono & stereo tracks on the same CD, when available. In the same manner as they include different files (widescreen vs. TV screen, and various languages) on a DVD. Not that Blue Note would do it, but, I wonder if they could fit all that data on a single CD? Would they need a separate file for the mono and stereo tracks? I realize music CDs are mostly full in the range of 75 minutes.

ss1 might be able to provide some advice.
-
If I pull the bottom disk out really quick, all the disks above it drop down by the width of a single disk and no damage is done. Errr... maybe. Truthfully, there aren't any jazz disks near the bottom of my in-the-corner stacks. All the disks I play are near the top. Whew! The bottom row contains such notable items as a George Strait, a Yanni, a Sampler of 1980s dance music, and a collection of Christmas tunes played on an organ in some large Eurpean church (and it ain't no Jimmy Smith a-playin' that organ). The risk of needing to grab a title off the bottom remains quite low.

I wonder if it's better to stack Mosaic boxes in a vertical fashion, on their sides? Or, to stack the Mosaic boxes in a horizontal fashion, on their ends? If the storage space permits, the boxes take up less useable space in a room or closet by stacking them vertically. I wonder what the risk of damage is to the boxes at the bottom of the stack? I wonder how they stack the boxes at the Mosaic warehouse, and how many they place in a single stack?

Yes. Scan your photo into your computer. Shrink the picture to 100KB (or less) using a picture-viewing program. 'Reply' to this thread in the usual manner... at the bottom of the Reply screen there is a 'Browse' button. Use the 'Browse' button to tell the Board software where to locate your scanned image from your computer. Finally, add your post to the Board the way you would normally do, by pressing the 'Add Reply' button. The picture will be uploaded along with your text.

Oh! Do you mean the CDs that are stacked in the corner? On the floor? Also, notice the bottoms of the Mosaic Select boxes sitting atop my old Bose 301 speaker. hehe...
-
Done. It's interesting that, from what I see in this picture, I don't appear to have many CD titles in my possession. However, this picture includes all but a couple of the available RVGs, with several other jazz titles included in the mix. My Mosaics are in their Mosaic boxes located in my closet. I have many other CDs besides these, some stacked on the floor, some in the other closet, some in my car. But, the CDs in this picture are the CDs I play the most. And, are the ones I organized, alphabetically, due to the inspiration from ss1.
-
Feck. I had to have ss1 help me to get my RVGs organized. Yeah, this story is true. And, nothing against ss1. I'm glad he got me going on the project. There were certain RVGs I owned but hadn't seen/couldn't find for months (a la 'Green Street').

If you think you have seen everything,

Damn. This makes my house look uncluttered and well-organized. I'll admit to having some unopened Mosaics laying around my house. -

I still like Claude's Paypal idea (from earlier in this thread). >link< Would donated money be considered taxable income to Organissimo? Would this further complicate b3-er's tax situation? -
$96.00. Last Chance. No song samples on the Mosaic site. I've read many very positive reviews of the Tristano/Konitz Mosaic. What up? Should I purchase the Tristano/Konitz set before it goes OOP? Why can't I decide?

Anyone can attach your checking account. It requires a court order and unless you are a government tax collector the other party has to be aware that you intend to attach. Again... it makes me look at my mattress more and more favorably. Can they attach my mattress? b3-er: I wouldn't balk at donating a few dollars to the Board. I've had a lot of free fun during the past year. -
I own every Select through the Duke Pearson. The new Selects seem to be arriving faster than even 'I' can buy them lately.

I'm ignorant to things such as this but I didn't know anybody had the right to simply take your money from your own bank account. I mean, I know it's the government but it's still your privately held assets in your private bank account. What kind of bullshit izzat? It makes me wonder if I shouldn't have my money tucked securely under my mattress. I know it's safe there. -
The answer is simple: Get the Mobley. Get the Mobley. Get the Mobley.

Got Alienware? This TecTV review says this notebook computer has a four-speaker system. >link<
