  1. Enclosed is the list of LP's from Bud Shank's personal jazz collection. It is interesting to see what his interests were - Brazilian and ethnic, other artists, etc. I gave them my own simple grading system as I am not a dealer. F-fair, G-good, E-excellent , NS means no slip cover. They were graded very conservatively -virtually all look rarely played. Most of Bud's own LP's are sealed and some labeled Demo or Promo. I am still researching prices but any reasonable offer would be considered. Payment would be via Paypal. For the signed Album covers and Posters, please see my previous post. PM with your interests and offer. 2. Well, it's probably this: Fascinating-Rhythms or some material from the sound board that was used to construct this album. EJP626, You are likely right regarding "some material from a sound board" or something of that nature. The CD is clearly a burned CD with a semi-professional? printed face. Besides the title "Bud Shank Quartet at the Jazz Bakery" it says, " 1/31/2009 - Saturday Set 2 (Disc 6)" With the following 6 tracks: Chicane, In Walked Bud, Fascinating Rhythm, Lover Man, Manteca, Night and Day. JSngry, In response to your question, the CD never had a case just a paper sleeve. And the CD Player was just a cheap portable.
  3. Hello All, I recently acquired several items from the estate of Jazz altoist Bud Shank. I am working on getting a complete list together for sale. All of these items are from his personal collection, those items that were not given over to the Los Angeles Jazz Society, and obtained directly from his wife, Linda. Included are: - Approximately 45 Vinyl LP’s from the 1950′s to 1980′s, half of which are his own LP’s, likely Promos. Many still sealed. - 22 signed Bud Shank Album Covers, most from the 50′s. A few, there are more than one. - 5 signed Album Posters, Brasamba, Bazilliance Vol 2 & 3, and 2 Bossa Nova Jazz Samba. - 4 Jazz books by William Claxton: Jazz West Coast, Jazz Seen, California Cool, and Jazz. Some with notes in them. - A loose CD (found in his CD Player), possibly a Promo. titled, Bud Shank Quartet at the Jazz Bakery, Disk 6 1/31/2009. A couple months before his passing. Not sure what this is. Oh, and one other item: a letter to Bud Shank on Frank Sinatra letterhead. It is not signed but has a typed date of April 1991. It describes Mr. Sinatra's appreciation for an album by Bud Shank and Lou Levy. Apparently, this is referring to the album Bud Shank & Lou Levy produced the year before called Lost in the Stars: Bud Shank and Lou Levy Play the Sinatra Songbook. Interesting Jazz memorabilia. I’ll get the complete list soon. Email if interested. sandxssun@cox.net Regards, Matt
