  1. I remember when Bret had that Bird Lives site, he wrote a fictional parody of this interview. JOS was so bitter about a lot, seems he didn't start his career that way.
  2. Akiko is wonderful!
  3. Unfortunately, Leon Spencer, Jr. passed last year.
  4. That playing is so lame. LOL
  5. Really? theres a site where ECM albums can be streamed? But anyway, you are welcome
  6. Go for the classic 1986 "Still Live", "Tribute", though Jack's drums are very high in the mix, but it's the most detailed recording of his drums I've heard in a Standards Trio recording. The "Standards I/II:Tokyo" DVD set is great too.
  7. Did you finally get "Somewhere" Craig P? I think it ranks among their best.
  8. The disc 2a&b jewelcase right? I hate when the teeth bust or the hinge breaks in those jewelcases for doubles. I have had to replace quite a few of those recently.
  9. I'm glad I decided to hold on to this. What I always found odd etherbored is the what sounds like artificial reverb added to the "Hank Mobley Quartet" session which sounds so different the usual spring reverb RVG was using. Is that present on the TOCJ?
  10. I have other non music related items I can part with that I'm selling now, I moved recently. The music stuff is hard to part with. $80 bucks for a temporary fund, vs. living with the music another several decades, the having the music wins out. There are other sessions in the box still not available, at least not legit.
  11. Thanks for looking everyone. I think I'm going to hang onto this one as it may lead to regret for not having quite a few of the albums once this thing is gone for good. I'm very sorry for any inconvenience this may have caused anyone. I gave it a lot of thought before putting the listing up and after, thanks for looking.
  12. "Thinking of Home" was quite good, I took it out from the public library in Binghamton years ago, though I don't remember much of the album, other than it was more expansive in Mobley's language.
  13. I think the talk towards the 50's stuff has made me think if I sell that Mosaic I will regret it, it's worth keeping just for the quartet session alone.
  14. Mobley's tone, I only heard a few tunes from "Breakthrough", got so so dark then, almost baritone like.
  15. It is a great set. This is making me think I should hold onto my set I put up for sale for whenever the urge strikes to listen.
  16. Reduced in price from $115 to $80. Flat rate shipping inside US is $5.05. Box is worn from shelf wear, disc 1 has a minor small scratch that does not affect play and disc 5 has a scratch that does not affect play. All other discs and booklet are mint. This is set 1904 out of 7500
  17. The music is incredibly important and next to the Europe '67 box, the most radical document of how the band turns tunes inside out. It really has some of the best Wayne ever with that band as an improvisor. I guess important music doesn't = profit
