I've nothing to contribute i.e. comparing vinyl to CD versions of albums, but I can say that ripping my CD collection to my hard drive (as WAV's or 320 MP3) it really does make listening to things I haven't for a long time much easier, listening to boxes, multi disc sets, etc.......... it's just really nice. Will I ditch the CD's? no.

Great album, loved it for years since I bought the RVG nearly 12 or 13 years or so ago back in college. Think "Blues in Maude's Flat" is one of the all time great BN blues.

"Till We Have Faces" is an undisputed classic, IMO. The playing is so smoking, Pat Metheny comes close to the level of unhinged playing on the new Logan Richardson as he does on the Thomas. The Alex Norris "Extension Deadline" is great as well, was glad to hear new Thomas, and if you love "Unity", the album is right up your alley

When I receive the sealed physical promos from ECM after I publish my reviews, a few of the discs say made in Mexico, but some say made in Germany, too.

Killing stuff

Listening right now, preparing for a review. I like it quite a lot on three spins, the music has a subtle fire. Some great playing by Yonathan Avishai on piano, and while McHenry is strictly an ensemble player most of the album, he does take a passionate solo on "Behind the Broken Glass".

Yes, it's available in the UK, which is how I got my copy on eBay.

Got the CD version today, listened to disc 1, but very very nice. The sound is excellent, these tapes were well maintained, and I think these Resonance sets for archive material will be what Mosaic is to complete sets and hard to find material.

The 2000 issue of "Ascension" is like this, skips near the end when ripped

Jack is an amazing drummer and so good at a variety of contexts. I look forward to his forthcoming ECM album with Ravi Coltrane and Matthew Garrison.

I won't be getting the Monk b/c I have 95% of the material on the previous early 2000's Legacy reissues, but to me the '94 remastering of Big Band and Concert by Vic Anesini sounds fine. It's right when Columbia/Legacy remasters started sounding really good.
