  1. Listening right now, preparing for a review. I like it quite a lot on three spins, the music has a subtle fire. Some great playing by Yonathan Avishai on piano, and while McHenry is strictly an ensemble player most of the album, he does take a passionate solo on "Behind the Broken Glass".
  2. Yes, it's available in the UK, which is how I got my copy on eBay.
  3. I enjoy their albums, good band
  4. Got the CD version today, listened to disc 1, but very very nice. The sound is excellent, these tapes were well maintained, and I think these Resonance sets for archive material will be what Mosaic is to complete sets and hard to find material.

The 2000 issue of "Ascension" is like this, skips near the end when ripped
  6. Great article, and the stream of the tune from the new release sounds wonderful!
  7. Looks great, I will pick this one up. I guess the Larry Young is in a strange package too? We'll see when it arrives from the UK.
  8. Bought a 2CD copy on eBay just now
  9. Jack is an amazing drummer and so good at a variety of contexts. I look forward to his forthcoming ECM album with Ravi Coltrane and Matthew Garrison.
  10. PM sent on APP "Tales"
  11. I am shocked too, very sudden news. RIP
  12. PM sent on the Brahms
  13. Thanks Lon! I definitely trust your ears. Cool they added bonus material to the Newport discs.
  14. I won't be getting the Monk b/c I have 95% of the material on the previous early 2000's Legacy reissues, but to me the '94 remastering of Big Band and Concert by Vic Anesini sounds fine. It's right when Columbia/Legacy remasters started sounding really good.
  15. damn, RIP
  16. Let's not forget "Blue Flames" on Prestige, great disc
  17. Beautiful
  18. Yeah, I saw that. I have most of the Monk already.
  19. Wasn't there supposed to be a live Brubeck box in the works?
  20. Thanks, ordered the Henderson/Kikuchi/Hino in Concert one. Have a rip of MK "In Concert" and will grab it later.
  21. Then there is "Free Ride" from the 70's on Pablo, but that may not count
  22. I love how he used post production techniques to really enhance the tonal range of the drums, like the flanger on the "Storm" section of "Spanish Moss".
