  1. I like Supermium for two reasons - it runs on older versions of Windows (all the way back to XP) as well as newer versions, and although it's Chromium-based, unlike Chrome itself the Supermium developers have not removed support for Manifest V2 and have no intention of doing so. Manifest controls how browser extensions function, and Manifest V3, the current version that was rolled out last year, restricted permission grants much more than V2, rendering adblockers far less effective (or essentially non-functional in some cases). I switched to Supermium months ago from Chrome and haven't looked back - the migration process was dead simple, just like upgrading to a new version of Chrome. Supermium I also use FIrefox, but recently switched my default search engine to Duck Duck Go when Google started requiring Javascript to be enabled in order to perform searches. I have Javascript blocked by default on my Firefox install and enable it only on an as-needed basis (NoScript is my preferred extension for that use case), but I didn't care to do so just to be able to search with Google, given how aggressive they've gotten with force-feeding users ads.
  2. Several minutes earlier:
  3. This cap was briefly available on Fanatics' site this morning before it was removed. Guess Fisher didn't like having competition when it comes to being an asshat.
  4. Many years ago, my daily transportation was a Vespa P125. I feel certain that I would have been given a much wider berth in congested urban traffic if it had been outfitted like this one.
  5. I've read that there is some benefit to taking Paxlovid 6 or more days after symptom onset, but as Jim already pointed out, the guideline is that you need to start taking it within 5 days. I'd expect that some (most?) doctors might be reluctant to prescribe it after the 5-day threshold has passed. It is most effective when started as soon as possible after symptom onset that has been confirmed as COVID via a positive test.
  6. It has long been speculated that the reason Hawaiian Eye was never released on any home video format was that practically every episode contained a scene with Cricket singing a song in the hotel nightclub, and it would have been prohibitively expensive to clear the music rights for a video release.

  8. I haven't used PostImage before, but looking at the site, you shouldn't have to manually edit anything. I'm guessing that you were attempting to use the links provided as "Thumbnail for forums" or "Hotlink for forums", both of which contain HTML code that isn't needed here. You want to copy the link provided as "Direct link", and plug that in via the Other Media > Insert Image from URL button here. The Direct Link should be used because it contains the image file extension (like .jpg or .png), which "Link" does not, and a lot of forums won't post a picture properly unless the URL contains an image file extension.
  9. The original Homer Simpson. Two other standout performances: Hawkeye Pierce in Altman's M*A*S*H, and Calvin Jarrett in Ordinary People.
  10. The CDC softened their recommendations for Covid earlier this year, bringing them more in line with recommendations for other respiratory viruses. They now say you can resume normal activities once symptoms have improved and you've had no fever for at least 24 hours, but they also suggest taking added precautions for 5 days thereafter. Respiratory Virus Guidance Hopefully your wife is feeling better by now. In my experience, the cough tends to linger for quite some time after a Covid infection. I count myself lucky that I didn't experience any significant side effects from Paxlovid - the first time I took it, I was concerned about the near-intolerable foul taste that it seems many people have experienced, but although I did notice an "off" taste, it was slight and very manageable.
  11. Very few of his stature left now from that generation. Foyt and Andretti are about it, along with Roger Penske (obviously more as a team owner, as his driving career doesn't compare). The sport is already very different now than it was in their heyday, but when those folks all pass it really will be the end of an era.
  12. Got it for the second time at the beginning of last week. My wife had symptoms for a couple of days before she tested positive, and during that period I also started getting a sore throat, which overnight turned into congestion, coughing, and pronounced fatigue. We've gotten to where we try to test as soon as either of us develops any symptoms, because the nature of my wife's work exposes her on a fairly regular basis to people that have it. Like the first time I had it, I immediately got a prescription for Paxlovid, and the symptoms abated significantly after I got through the first few doses.
  13. I believe this to be the case, based on a "DIY" re-eq'ing of the 1927-1934 Victor singles and 1940-1942 Victor & Bluebird singles from the Centennial box that was done by an unknown member of the Hoffman forum. He claimed that the box had employed some of the strangest EQ decisions he had ever heard, including an extreme "smiley-faced" EQ, and set out to remedy this, using an Ellington collection mastered by John R. T. Davies for a British label as a reference baseline for his re-eq'ing. I'm pretty far removed from having either "golden ears" or high-end listening equipment, but the results he achieved were readily apparent even over a set of computer speakers when A-Bing his versions against the corresponding discs in the Centennial box.
  14. Those speculators are about to be disappointed, because both the LP and the CD set are already up for preorder at the official Nat King Cole website with a street date of May 31: https://natkingcole.com/pages/shop
  15. Not the same as seeing it in person, of course, but PBS aired it last month as part of the "Great Performances at the Met" series. I was only able to watch a few minutes of it at the time and figured I'd catch it when it reaired, but so far there's no indication of that happening. Wish I'd DVRed it, but I didn't know it was going to be on until I stumbled across it by chance.
