  1. popsike does only list records from about 50 $ and up ! to compare the prices you have really to read the item description: stereo mono near mint, near mint minus , vg++ etc) then of course as many members already wrote the seller is important. but whats missing is the TIME you are selling the record: not only the hours of the day, but the season: for example christmas time (1 month before) you get really high prices. bid in summertime in the middle of august, you have got chances for what was michel tellin above ... i think popsike can give you quite a good feeling if a record has a high value or not, but that's only for the money side !! and says nothing about the quality of the music itself of course ...
  2. oh yes, paris, texas is dope !
  3. i have the complete japan blue note 10" collection. these are a total of 50 titles ! all of them are mint/near mint and have the obi. does anybody know what they are worth ? of course i saw a few titles on ebay, but always mostly the same 4-6 titles for around 20-30 US$. spent also a good money for these, but not sure if i will keep them. the sound is pretty good i must admit - for me better than the newer toshiba 12" vinyls, but i never did collect 10" til now. thanks for input tom

  13. Some of the earlier CDs from Japan sound pretty good. Many are flat transfers of the master with no EQ and almost all of them were mastered at a much lower level than anything done later. In this list, I could see wanting to check out the old Impulse! CDs but those old Columbia/CBS/Sony Miles discs? Yuck. Older CBS masterings almost always sound harsh & tinny to me. I have several of those CBS/Sony 35DP and 32DP Miles Davis CDs and they don't sound harsh and tinny to me. The current Mark Wilder remasters do, at least they sound harsh en "pinched" to me. same with me - have about 25 miles davis cds from this series and they sound superb to me.
