That's nothing - we've got flying sharks in Texas! Mako jumps in boat Fisherman Jason Kresse used no bait to make the catch of a lifetime: An 8-foot mako shark that simply jumped into the back of his boat. Kresse, of Freeport, Texas, was hoping to land some red snapper in the Gulf of Mexico when he set out early Monday. He and two crew members were spreading chum on the water when they suddenly attracted a much bigger fish: The 375-pound shark. "All of a sudden something hit the side of the boat," Kresse recounted. "He ends up landing on the back of the boat." The shark began thrashing there, with Kresse and the crew unable to get the fish back into the gulf. Hours later, after damaging the boat, the shark finally died. Once back at shore, Kresse needed a forklift to get the trophy fish off his boat. It's currently on display at a seafood business in his town, but Kresse intends to permanently memorialize his catch. "I'm going to get a mount of it," said Kresse. "A fish jumping in your boat, 400 pounds, that's unbelievable."

Why not just start a thread about your blog, and then you can update it when you add new items to the blog? Wouldn't that serve the same purpose?

You may be right about Moore. I've only seen her play once this season, so I don't have a good enough sense of her game. She's a great player obviously. My opinion of Griner is based on seeing her more frequently, and she's almost a freak of nature out there. Taller than everyone else, long armspan, and able to make shots from almost everywhere. Her game was off last night vs A&M, but I'd like to think that was because of the Aggies' defense.

Great win by A&M over Baylor in the women's tourney. A&M had lost to Baylor 3 times this season already, and Baylor had probably the best overall player in women's hoops in Britney Griner. A&M going to the Final Four for the first time ever, along with Stanford, UConn, & Notre Dame.

He's a musician and producer. He's doing alot of the remastering of the King Crimson catalog. I believe Jakko Jakszyk is doing the remainder of the titles. Wilson is the main guy in Porcupine Tree, and has also done some solo work (under his own name, Bass Communion, and IEM), and also is a primary musician in the bands No-Man and Blackfield.

I agree with Larry's comments. Also, if you're doing a search on a topic you know has already been discussed, and you're looking for specific information, it sure makes it alot easier if you only have to go back through 1 old thread, as opposed to 20.

Update from Steven Wilson's FB page: "The new SW solo record is still on track for September release, and I think the next two King Crimson remixes (Larks Tongues in Aspic and Starless and Bible Black) will be out around the same time." At least we finally know which the next titles are and when they're coming. This 40th anniversary reissue series sure is slow (but most excellent!).

Forum member Claude posted the astronaut scam letter here on the O Board back in 2004 (here), so it's been floating around for at least 7 years. Poor astronaut, I'm glad he's still in good humor.

I take back one thing I said - I don't dislike Asia, they're actually not bad at the music they make. If I listen to their early albums as AOR rock, it's actually not bad. The disappointment only comes in when you consider (as a prog fan) what they *could* have done.

Either way, the glass is twice as big as it should be. Musically speaking, too.

I'm not a big Asia fan either. They were intentionally AOR type music, not prog. Which was disappointing considering the pedigree of the musicians involved. But even the prog groups that were around at that point were also leaning towards pop - Genesis, the other guys in Yes, etc. I think part of it was the "uncool" factor of prog at the time, and the desire to make big selling pop music. Heck, even classic rock bands were playing simpler, money grabbing music - Jefferson Starship for example. And later Aerosmith, Heart, REO Speedwagon, ZZ Top and Chicago followed that formula too, IMO.

There's something wrong with this idea. That film should be left alone - no sequel or prequel, especially 30 yrs after the fact. Nah, I welcome a prequel and sequel. That's just me I guess, but I bet there are others. Maybe if the story were based on a book that Dick wrote, but that was a standalone work, wasn't it?

Oh, noticed an interesting blurb in Fripp's diary entry from 10 Feb. He was in the studio working with Jakko Jakszyk, on a new recording with Mel Collins, Tony Levin, and Gavin Harrison. Sounds interesting already to me, but Fripp also described it as "A Scarcity Of Miracles by JFC with L&H, a King Crimson ProjeKct." That last part has me intrigued - maybe he's not totally given up on some future KC work?

Are they good? I could probably see them in Austin. They're fun! Intense Irish-punk music. There was a banjo, fiddle, and accordion on stage, but it was still driving punkish stuff. It's like going to an Irish Pub with 2,500 other people, moshing and so forth. I didn't mosh, too old for that lol - I just kinda bop along nowadays. Check out some of their clips on youtube..

Well apparently I saw King Crimson on 4 September 1982! I don't remember a thing about the show (alcohol was definitely a contributing factor). It was a festival in Wiesbaden called the 5th Golden Summernight Concert, which also included Jethro Tull and Neil Young. This bugs me, because the 2011 "me" would have LOVED that show. The 1982 "me" was clueless that day and wanted to party with high school friends. I can't find the setlist, but here's one from 8/13/82, so it was probably comparable: 1. Waiting Man 2.
