My thoughts exactly. Before I retired I represented my employer (a government agency) in a zillion court cases all over the country and at almost every court I had to go through security, with officers checking everything I had with me. Refusal would surely have led to problems, morons or no morons. Not cooperating is asking for trouble. Regardless of the cop's intelligence or attitude about his job, I can perhaps see why he got upset. He doesn't know if any one individual is intent on doing damage of some sort or not. Especially one who - self-admittedly - was angry when he walked in the door, was opposed to being searched and who then returns to the scene after being told to leave. While you may be absolutely no threat, you may not have come across that way. It's difficult to say, just hearing your side of the story.

Got one today that doesn't want or offer money, just bibles. ***** Dear Friends in Christ, I greet you out there in Jesus Lovely name. I am the way, the truth and the life, no man cometh to the Father but by me John 14:6. Jesus Christ is our salvation! I was searching for a study material when I came across your email and convinced you are a Christian. Please do not be angry at this letter and undermine me because I am reaching you through the internet. God led me to your email and I know I’m blessed having to know you. I am a member of Miujejegbu Community Church. By His grace I’m a believer born again and blood bought blood of Jesus . I am married with six children. I have a great passion doing the work of the master especially now I work on my own having not to be disturbed like when I was working 10 hours in the clerk office work.. I am not rich in this wordly riches but rich spiritually in Christ. I came to know Christ in 1998 and since then serve Him with commitment. I live in an area where there is much hunger and crisis but the Lord keeps us from them all. Our church is a small church with about Forty three people. I am the church secretary as well as Adult Sunday school teacher. As you can see I can speak and understand English well as we are British colonised country. The purpose for writing you is to appeal for your help for bibles. In the past six months we have visited Ekigbebehui village continually and many people have been won there for Christ particularly the old fathers and mothers. Old persons mostly inhabit the villages here because the young ones are drifting to the urban areas in order to enjoy amenities like electricity and pipe-borne water that are not available in the village. There are 19 aged Brothers and Sisters who can read and asking for bibles because they are now saved. They have so much show concern that we are keeping them always in our prayers for provision of bibles for them. We need 19 giant print bibles for these loved ones who are now saved and eager to feed from God’s word. They cannot afford bibles because they are cost much in this place. Please help to supply bibles to these our brothers and sisters in need. The King James Version will be preferable. Please send the bibles through my address below. If you have any Christian literature one or two that is enriching to the spirit man please send me.please you can send them through registered or insured air-mail through post office. The LORD bless thee, and keep thee: The LORD make his face shine upon thee, and be gracious unto thee: The LORD lift up his countenance upon thee, and give thee peace. Yours in Christ, Elder Sheaib Basma Afif C/O Miujejegbu Community Church 27E Miujejegbu Street,Omojuo-GOP 8950,Benin City, Edo State, Nigeria.

Enjoyed seeing Mike play at the Continental Club last year with Jimmie. Was great to finally meet him as well! Will be ordering both the Frosty disc and the Jimmie when it's available. And keep us posted on your Texas dates with Janiva, Jim! -

Funny you didn't trust the Snopes link. I've seen the messages on the packaging with my own eyes. Not a rumor at all. I agree it's not that big a deal. -

There are many foods that won't decompose in a "timely" manner for various reasons. (Hint hint), remember from childhood history books how sailors preserved food? A neat burger experiment. I hadn't realized In & Out Burger had expanded into Vegas & Texas. For many years it was stated they stated they wouldn't expand as it was too difficult to find suppliers for their organic beef and other ingredients. The religious part has been there since the beginning, it is not a "Texas thing." Thank you, Mr. Spielberg! -

In N Out prints bible verse references on the burger/fries/drinks packaging. Snopes link to In N Out Bible Verses Again this doesn't bother me one way or the other, it's the food that matters. But if I wanted to work for them, I'd definitely do my homework before interviewing. -

I tried In N Out for the first time in August in Las Vegas. Their burgers are on par with Five Guys, if you ask me. Five Guys' fries beat them handily though. I thought most folks knew that In N Out were a religious chain, like Chik Fil A. Doesn't bother me one way or the other as a customer, but I'd definitely want to know that if I were considering working for them. It would be a different culture. -

Yeah, it's him. He was in the Jethro Tull/Aqualung thread there, discussing his remixing of the album. He's also been in the GfD thread.

Kinda interesting to be reading a thread over at the SH forum at the same time as SW. Maybe we can get him to join our board and chat about his relatively newfound interest in jazz (based on some of GFD, anyway)?
