  1. Hey we went to multiple Phillies games every season while living there. After moving out to the desert last year, we've had one series vs the DBacks each regular season, and attended 3 of the 4 games each time. This year we got to take our 10 month old grandson to his first Phillies game as well. Plus last year the Phillies played (and were upset by) the DBacks in the postseason, and we went to multiple games for that as well. I'm just hopeful we can do the same this season if it works out. We take what we can get! Strategic rooting is important!
  2. Rooting for the Mets to win the second one here, though I don't really have an interest in the Mets specifically. But if they win the DBacks are in. I also don't have an interest in the DBacks, despite living in AZ. But if they get in, I'll have a chance to see the Phillies here locally. At least there's a chance in that case. That's what I'm hoping for.
  3. A comp I picked up while living in Germany back in 2003.
  4. Somehow I missed this recording when it was released, thank you for sharing. I may have to seek out the 7" single for this (it's not on any of his albums).
  5. It's a great album, in a career of great albums. Easily one of my favorite rock bands ever. I saw them about a week ago here in Phoenix (which is about 40% Hispanic), and people were dancing in the aisles for most of the show.
  6. I caught them here in Phoenix last night, at the Musical Instrument Museum, fantastic show! I came away impressed with both Shaw and Waits. Kris Davis was solid, but didn't really stand out, performance wise, IMO. And Dave was fantastic. edit - for those that haven't been to the MIM, it's an amazing museum, easily Smithsonian caliber. They have the oldest guitar in existence (dating from 1590), and a Chinese drum that's more than 6,000 years old. Plus Eric Dolphy's sax, Thelonious Monk's piano, Buddy Rich's drum set, Gerry Mulligan's baritone sax, and Lionel Hampton's vibraharp. Too many other things to mention.
  7. Los Lobos - How Will the Wolf Survive?
  8. Female mule deer running across the road in front of me. Her sister ran first so I came to a stop and just watched this one.
  9. I learned this interesting (to me) trivia from Geddy Lee's autobiography, My Effin' Life. Apparently one of his best friends growing up was Oscar Peterson's son Oscar Jr. They were so close that Oscar Jr was his best man when Geddy got married in 1976.
  10. View from the top of the Ski Jump, Olympic Park, Park City Utah (home of the 2002 and 2034 Winter Olympics) 19 Aug 2024
  11. I bought all the copies and purposely hid them from you? It is a great album - I like Trey Gunn on this as well, before he became a member of Crimson. He and Fripp play well together on this. And the drummer is Jerry Marotta, who played on much of Peter Gabriel's earlier records.
  12. David Sylvian/Robert Fripp - The First Day
  13. For those that knew him or knew of him, his partner posted on Facebook that John Kelman passed away this morning, of a massive heart attack. He was an active music reviewer, mostly on All About Jazz I believe. Rest in Peace, John.
  14. aha - du bist der Anton aus Tyrol!
  15. Great photo, thanks for sharing. What mountain is that?
  16. Hoodoo rock formations, Catalina Mountains, Arizona 3 Aug 2024
  17. Leafblade - The Kiss of Spirit and Flesh
  18. Lionel Hampton's 1930's era vibraharp, at the Musical Instrument Museum in Phoenix 30 July 2024
  19. I like that one a lot - 3/4 of Japan on it, plus Peter Gabriel's guitarist David Rhodes.
  20. Somewhere in Colorado, earlier this month.
