And who would have thought that Albert Ayler would still have the same effect on people nearly 40 years later. The first few notes I heard (mine were from Spirits Rejoice) sent a shiver up my spine!

I know a further thunmbs up from me is not needed but if you like Ayler you will love this CD (espsecially if you enjoy Vibrations).

A good excuse to play these two today.

It took a little while but the set grew on me. Disc one includes my favourite version of 'My funny valentine' which sounds almost gothic to me.

You gentlemen are (of course) correct. A fantastic DVD. Some very interesting interviews ( Airto looks just as passionate now about the music as he did when he was in the band). The actual IOW performance is essential for anyone who is a fan of Miles' electric period.

Davis) (take 9/10) 7:04 Splice at 2:14 There is a barely audible second drum part in the right channel throughout (a stick on the rim of a snare drum). The identity of the drummer is a mystery. As on "Circle in the Round" from earlier in December, Beck does not solo but simply doubles Carter's bass line.
