1. Yeah, if it was last year's time it would be an upset....but Flacco is back to being pre-Super Bowl Flacco and the defense isn't anywhere as good this year without Lewis and his deer antler spray. You're basic post Super Bowl season. 2. This one is an upset....and it's now looking like the Rex Ryan circus will be around even longer. 3. This one was surprising....especially with the Johnathan Martin situation which seems to be getting uglier. Now not only is the NFLPA looking into it....the team asked the NFL to investigate what happened. 4. Houston offense just sucks and Andrew Luck is the real deal. In a few more years people will be wondering why there was even a discussion about RGIII being drafted before him, or how he won rookie of the year. 10th 4 quarter comeback in 24 starts! It helps he has his OC from Stanford as OC....instead of Kyle "Nepotism" Shanahan.....or Mike "Thank God for Terrell Davis & Alex Gibbs" Shanahan. Also didn't help Houston that it looked like Gary Kubiak was having a heart attack before he was being taken to the hospital during half-time....especially with John Fox needing heart surgery to replace a valve. Not sure how that doesn't affect the team. 5. On Philly.....I think Foles just fits Chip Kelly's offense better. He's not as mobile as Vick, or has as strong an arm.....but he can @ least pass accurately. That's a good enough explanation for Foles success. However, I watched a pre-game show where three analysts confidently picked the Raiders to win by varying scores. Nobody had the Eagles. Check the Raiders record....all their wins were against bad teams. I also think there is a Chip Kelly backlash. He's still working with players that really don't fit his offense....the defense is still a mess.....and there is the usual learning curve from going from college to the NFL. Jimmy Johnson didn't start winning until he had players that fit his style...which is why he didn't do as well with the Dolphins. Add in, while the Raiders defense is middle of the pack overall....it's towards the bottom in passing. Also Pryor is terrible and they're barely getting by with him and McFadden was injured earlier than Pryor.

New World's Strongest Beer

Both the End of the World and Armageddon were/are 12 ounces. More malt (dry/liquid) is the most common way. You can also add in more sugar but that makes it really sweet. With good quality yeast it shouldn't be a problem....there are also turbo yeasts. Strongest I have had that was still good was Mikkeller (Heavy Black) & Samuel Adams' Utopios. The one everyone raves about that no longer is around (is retired long before I could ever drink it) is Hair of the Dog's Dave. Every so often someone sells some @ obscene prices. Normally, I don't go more than the 20's....and even then not often....generally Dogfish Head. After that point it's time for Single Malt. -
Same here, and Thank You!

Something else to point out....this is going to have obscene calories. End of the World was over 1600 calories. This brewery's 65% "Armageddon" was over 1900 calories. -
If the Dodgers trade for Price and sign Tanka....they're trading Beckett....especially with Chad Billingsley coming back next year. Even him they're going to have to put in the pen, or trade. That's going to be potentially the best rotation next year.
-
The Dodgers and Cubs appear to be two of the teams interested in Masahiro Tanka. The posting money alone just to be able to sign him is going to be crazy. $70-$90 million just to be able to sign him to a contract for who knows how much more on top of that....and @ best he becomes their #3 starter.

135 proof @ least it's cheaper than End of History, which is 55 abv. Of course, it also comes inside a squirrel. -
Thanks for the correction, Dan. I should have said "when he was available." Still, it would have been nice to have his bat in the Giants' line-up. 1. That wouldn't have qualified as the Giants once again trying to buy a WS? 2. The Giants would have had to give him an extension to keep him. It was his penultimate year when the Padres traded him. 3. There is a reason they traded him after only 1.5-years. He wasn't worth the money and he didn't want to be there. In fact they only had to pay a part of the first year of that absurd 7-year $154 million extension. He was still under the Padres contract for $6+ million the first year with them. @ that price he was worth having.

Tigers going with Brad Ausmus to replace Leyland. Um, huh? Only managerial experience was 4 months for Israel's National Team. P.S. Cubs still don't have a manager.
-
Once again 7 games above replacement....and even though most of that is Gonzalez....they paid $21 million for those 7 games. Beckett is coming off a surgery were they removed a rib....I have never heard of that for a pitcher. Crawford woke up during the playoffs, but it's Crawford. P.S. Jed Hoyer actually traded twice for Rizzo, which is how he ended up on the Cubs. Kelly ended up having Tommy John surgery.
-
I was thinking about that trade the other day. How did it work out for the Dodgers? Did those high-salaried guys they got from the Red Sox help them finish first? Adrian Gonzalez was his usual strong self; Crawford was hurt and mostly just OK and Beckett was terrible then lost to season-ending surgery. Gonzalez was the prize of the pick and Crawford is now officially an over-priced platoon outfielder with a ridiculous contract. Beckett if I am not mistaken is actually under contract for just one more year. If not it can't be longer than two more years. On the other hand, none of the prospects had an impact this season. If they turn out to be stars, and two of the pitchers are on the cusp of the majors, then it becomes a more uneven trade. Come on, 7 games above replacement for $58+ million. Forget it's your team and they just won the WS....you honestly think that if they were still there....there would be any celebrating @ all?...and they're not getting any younger.

Insulting him and me is now classified under "converse"? ....and he hasn't even posted a single response to your insult/posts. As in, he hasn't even posted a single thing in almost 23 hours and counting in this thread. P.S. Is everyone supposed to forget your posts about the Mitchell report , Red Sox and Ortiz as part of your continuous homer defense of Barroid? This one happened only just how many months ago? "I'll believe when I see it. Braun got a free pass in his "MVP" year from Selig. The Mitchell report completely excluded all BoSox players because the author was a BoSox fan. Why should we expect Selig will actually be fair this time? This whole PEDs thing is a big bunch of selective bullshit." Then they're all your posts about Ortiz in defense of Barroid....and there are so many of them. Just the tip of the iceberg. I am only picking them from this thread just because you can't go back an edit out things in this thread....like you did tonight. P.P.S. Something to remember in the future when dealing with me for you and anyone else....You can pull off what you do with others....but don't do it with someone that doesn't forget anything he reads. Translation: Checkmate!

I really should have learned by now to quote your posts. You can be sure every single thing you direct towards me will be quoted from this point on....so you can't go back and edit out your embarrassments/insults, and edit in other things.
-
I am a troll for correcting you.....by pointing out that he's not a Yankees' fan, but a Giants' fan?
-
Maybe he's just that good. Or is PEDs the only answer? Yankees jealous hate knows no bounds, apparently. Sad. Last I heard he's a Giants' fan, but not a homer that defends juicers.

Pathetic what happened during the parade. Even a God Bless America and USA chant. Couldn't they have @ least used Ortiz, or Lester (as in, the two main reasons they won) instead of the Caucasian with the Jeb Stuart? P.S. It's Boston....but really amazing the complete lack of color anywhere on the parade. Hey, @ least Uehara was allowed to sing God Bless America. It's where is Waldo thing if they're not on the team.

This isn't worth a new thread. If you liked the last worthless recording you're probably going to like this one. Having said that.....this has to read to be believed. It's like Crouch on Meth. Money quote: "Jazz must change. If it doesn't, only about seven people will be listening to it way down the road." WTF? to begin with this...okay, beside the obvious that apparently if it's @ a slow-jam tempo....it's "feminized". "Second, Robert's music was surprisingly feminized. Much of it was taken in a slow-jam tempo with rich Fender Rhodes chords and chipped beats that struck a chord with women—a welcome relief from past R&B misogyny." Apparently, being completely unoriginal will save Jazz. http://www.jazzwax.com/2013/10/robert-glasper-black-radio-2.html

He's really not a PG, but he's too small to play the 2. Looks like DeMarcus Cousins is finally playing to his abilities.

Apparently the reason they gave Jeter a new contract is even though his option was for $9.5 million the cap hit was $14-$16 million. Now the $12 million is $12.8 to $13.2, Everyone seems to have different numbers.
