  1. Up for grabs is this excellent DVD. Price is $12 shipped in the US & Canada. Mint (-) Jazz Icons: Dizzy Gillespie features two historic concerts from one of the founding fathers of bebop. Filmed 12 years apart, the 1958 concert features Dizzy working eloquently within the small combo structure of a quintet including such infl uential musicians as sax player Sonny Stitt and bassist Ray Brown. The second show focuses on a completely different side of Dizzy, fronting the legendary Kenny Clarke-Francy Boland Big Band. With a 16-piece big band to conduct, including two drummers, his Latin influences are revealed on "Con Alma" and "Manteca. Pm if interested. Paypal only please
  2. Have you bought multiple copies of the same title? I remember the same thing happened to a guy on another forum. When bmg tracked that he had been buying 4-5 copies of one title, his account was canceled. The reasoning behind that was that bmg thought he was selling them (the guy said they were bought as presents). I once tried to sell a couple to FYE and they wouldnt touch them. They told me that they had an arrangement with bmgmusic that prevented them to accept any club CDs.

  13. I am listening to this puppy right now: This is what I needed and then some! Amazing music, thanks for the recommendation. I was afraid that this was going to be no-noised to death, like the similar Blanton-Webster edition Bluebird put out. But fortunately not, this one sounds really good. Love it!

  16. All I have in my collection is the Ken Burns compilation. I was listening to this yesterday and was blown away by the raw power of this guy. Where to go next? I want to start with what would be considered the essential. From the Ken Burns comp, I enjoyed more the late 40s tracks.
  17. Right. After you send them the info, they will send you a (fake) check for three times the amount you asked for. Then they will ask you to keep the amount you asked for x2, and send the rest back to them. 3 weeks later your bank will tell you its a fake check and you will be 3X in the red. Happened to a friend.
  18. I just ordered Byard's 'Family Man'. Anyone knows that one?
  19. I've been listening non-stop since release date.
