  1. Actually, Matt, underfunded student, had the original idea in his BFT 38. actually, I think it was Rocky who floated the idea way way way back when we were all still stuck with 56k modems...
  2. the colours are okay. A bit too retro maybe, but then again that's hip these days and I am not so. The logo and the banner sort of promise lots of space (with respect to that: I would crop the portrait to show more of the wall instead of the hands; let the eye rest on the central horizontal line instead of pulling it way up to eye level at the right), which the page then does not provide. It is pretty crammed with text. I think a reduction in the amount of text and especially of font types would help make things more quiet. I'd use block text instead of left aligned. Also a bit more empty space would be nice. Try putting the text in a gray tone (or brown?) instead of black. Maybe you can stretch the tabs to fill the entire width of the banner; as it is now, you have THREE horizontal dimensions with the banner/footer, the tabs and then the left/right column in the main area (the white lines in the banner aren't helping there either...). That's too much in my opinion. so yeah, this is nice, but I found the previous one more balanced edit: clicking through the tabs, I noticed the "photo" page is less wide than the welcome page.
  3. woa! more parentheses than in a Rooster Tie post. and one too many to top it off!

Do you mean "Le Nouveau Jazz" with François Tusques ? I have this record (a japanese reissue of 1972) that belongs to the "free" period. great record. Never knew there was a Japanese issue. If I remember correctly, brownie asked Tusques and the original tapes were lost. Maybe a master tape is still somewhere in Japan and we can have a nice CD reissue some day. Yeah right....
  8. of course plenty of the RVGs and TOCJ24s are only liked by those who like to play their CDs in the car or on kitchen boom boxes.
  9. before Jim gets into a hissyfit over Durium posting this sad news in the appropriate forum, can we move this thread to the artist forum please?
  10. so, are the Hodeir arrangements as good as I would expect them to be?
  11. We lived in a little room, man. it was, it was probably a fourth as big as, as your livin’ room, frank. (cough) and uh, everytime we picked a booger we’d flip it on this one window, or wipe it there if we couldn’t flip it there, y’know. and uh, I guess dwight stayed with me for about....’bout seven months, wasn’t it? six months? and uh, every night we’d contribute, y’know, two or three or four boogers, y’know. and when he left, uh my mom knew what was goin’ on all the time but we thought we had her hoodwinked. y’see, she was smarter than we, what, than what we were. an’ she made us clean ’em off, y’know? we used ajax and we couldn’t get them things...we had to use a... had to use a putty knife, man, to get them damn things off the window. you couldn’t even see out the window with all them boogers, man. I’m not kiddin’ you (sniff). an’ it was big ones too, an little, and there was some goober ones that weren’t even hard man, you’d just smear ’em, young ones. it’s like fro-you’ve seen frosted glasses. that window was just like a frosted glass with spots all over it, y’know? and uh, (sniff) it was- it was no good. although, th-that was the good ol’ days, though.
  12. just picked this on up from the local thrift store. w/ Karel Vlach, Karel Velebný, Karel Krautgartner (yay!), Ivan Preis, Jan Hammer (!), Gustav Brom, Ferdinand Havlík, Milan Pilar and plents others.
  13. Care to post a cover photo of Hard Talk on Amiga? Never seen that variant... not Hard Talk, but One Upmanship
  14. but he bought three LPs and ALMOST bought another one. There is no thread for music you almost bought. There should be such a thread. I almost bought the new Winard Harper CD from the bandstand at his concert Saturday night, but then I didn't. It cost $20 and I had a momentary surge of fiscal responsibility. I almost bought a Muse LP with Richard Davis and Chit Corea but then listened to it in the shoppe and decided to restrict myself to the Waldron/Schoof/Lacy LP on Amiga (licenced from enja).
  15. even if it didn't hit you in the face, my remark was in irony.
  16. indeed. and they are all waiting to jump on you the moment you stretch out that food filled hand to their antlered host...
