  2. Baseball is back! Sort of. I always was impressed by how realistic the Strat-O-Matic games could be.
  3. Not sure how many of you have seen this. Strat-o-matic is simulating the 2020 season day by day and posting updates each day at 2 pm. http://www.strat-o-matic.com/2020-season-simulation/ Devers is off to a good start with the Red Sox with 3 HR and 5 RBI already after 2 games.
  4. Aargh! One of my earliest baseball memories. Unfortunately, my wife deleted it from the DVR several years ago before I had a chance to watch it.
  5. Yes, he could. Here's a nice one that a friend produced and issued:
  6. This was discussed in an earlier thread. See here: http://www.organissimo.org/forum/index.php?/topic/56102-trane-and-monk-detroit-1967/
  7. It looks like their website is down. You may be able to access this earlier snapshot here: http://web.archive.org/web/20161104200659/http://vancouverjazz.com/2016/02/jazz-notes-john-coltrane-thelonious-monk-cobo-hall-1967.html

  11. Many cases in this area and elsewhere are being traced back to a Biogen conference that was held recently in Boston. The St. Patrick's Day parade in Boston has been cancelled. Harvard and MIT are sending students home for spring break and telling them not to come back until the fall. Massachusetts has declared a state of emergency, although it's not clear what that really means at this stage.
  12. Tony Scott played with Romano Mussolini. Perhaps that's the source of the confusion.
  13. I agree. His presence on a record is almost a guarantee of musical value.
  14. Smith appeared on several albums on Contemporary (in addition to his own Folk Jazz), such as: Red Norvo. Music to Listen to Red Norvo By Shelly Manne. Concerto for Clarinet & Combo Barney Kessel Plays Carmen. He also is on albums by the American Jazz Ensemble on RCA Victor and Epic.
  15. Sorry to hear this. He used "William O. Smith" for his classical efforts and Bill Smith in jazz settings. I love his "Folk Jazz" album.
  16. Hampton Hawes. The Sermon. individual solo tracks by Ray Bryant. Same for James Williams. Sitting at Heathrow between flights. Can provide more information when I get home.
  17. Good thing we don't have a "sitting on sofa" thread. You'd have a trifecta!
  18. Oops! A duplicate! Sorry.
