  1. I have the Zoom and I love it!
  2. Uhhhhhhhhhh . . . . . . . . . . yeah. But only on video. And also in person. So my wife needs glasses... I think that's the consensus I'm getting. So do mine...so do mine. (she said you looked good)
  3. Some people can just WEAR clothes. Freddie's one. MG Fred looks sharp as a tack... now just be grateful that I, on the other hand, wear any clothes.
  4. In the first edition too. Who is in The New Edition?
  5. Thanks MG! The fellas and I love keeping classic tunes around as much as we dig working the originals. Randy Marsh thinks of Little Milton a bit when he hears Freddie too. Freddie has an interesting and deeply soulful voice, imho. I've learn a lot as a vocalist from him, and still am learning. Hell, I've learned a lot from Jim. Jim Alfredson also sings his butt off!
  6. Here's a thought... "..hey great guys! Nice review, hope it does well for you." Btw, I consider the review to be an honor and a step in the right direction, musicological nerdology aside. Greg, that's roughly what I said to start off with. MG Just messin with ya. It's all good. It is funny how critical and nostalgic people can be here, regarding publications and how Jim has personally taken heat for it from some of them (latter is not as funny). Just having a go with you at any rate. I know you heart is in the right place. Warm Regards, g

  8. I have to imagine that sometimes reviews get edited for space. I don't have the magazine handy, but imagine there are a lot of reviews about that length. Could be standard for many releases? Anyhow, any press is good press eh? g
  9. Great lookin axe Joe. Sounds sweet on those youtube clips too.
  10. I thought it was laughing at you turkeys...
  11. I keep thinking I've heard that melody elsewhere...could be mine.
  12. I am thinking about sending one of my strats in for service. I spoke with Abe a while back and he was quite excited about this machine. As first I was skeptical, but watching that youtube video has intrigued me further, for sure.
  13. OOOOoooooooooh, good for you. That looks NICE! I am pretty excited about it. JoeG has a fancier model that absolutely sings. Also interested to see how the "Plekpro" setup on the frets works. Guess they have some computerized machine that dresses and levels the frets... Will certainly report back in.
  14. Anyone know where I can find this? I've been searching, but so far no luck.
  15. No not yet. What do you love about it? Sounds intriguing....
  16. Or Killer, Dope, Fly, Off The Hook, etc.. Never got the "off the hook" one though...
  17. I got a Wechter endorsement about four months ago....and my first axe is due to arrive tomorrow!!! Woohoo!!!! This model: http://www.sweetwater.com/store/detail/3120T-2PU/ Hoping to do some finger-style blues stuff with the combo.
  18. Yeah, but does HE have an angry wife in high heels, tap dancing on the floor above, as his patient and wonderfully talented friend tries to record his debut solo record for a Spring release...(hypothetically speaking of course)??? Could be an angle...
  19. If it sounds good it should be. Of course, with organ nerds who knows... edit for typo
  20. :tup I give it three out of five thumbs up. But seriously, totally concur with you brother Jim. It is a proud moment, me thinks. g
  21. Must have got dinged a star for not advertising in the same issue.* I think I'm kidding, but I'm not sure. Root Doctor got a very nice review from Downbeat, and we took out no ad. And while they have contacted me since, it has been very low pressure. I can't say that about every magazine out there. But the ad sales person at Downbeat has been very cool with me.
  22. Very cool!! I really dig his voice too...very cool tone and vibe to it, imho.
  23. Come admit it, That is your screen saver...isn't it.
  24. Tell us about it. http://elderly.com/vintage/items/40U-4400.htm I actually went to Elderly around 2004 to scope out a Hofner Verythin (Classic, iirc). Based on what I had read, it seemed like the guitar for me. The one they had didn't feel right, however. I ended up buying a Jazzica Custom instead, which has been a good archtop. Well, Saturday afternoon I stopped in with no agenda, grabbed the pictured guitar off the wall, and it said, "Take me home!". First I have to try it through an amp - Saturday afternoon is not a good day to venture in the amp room, what with all the wannabe masters of metal in there wanking away. So, hmmm. I've got an Ibanez, a Stromberg, and a flight case that I can sell.... Man, I can understand the temptation! Dang... sweet looking axe. Hmmmmm....I'm in town on Wed, you might want to grab it before then...
