  1. I think it had been...as a TOCJ, that is.
  2. First person to say 'RVG' gets clobbered!!!!
  3. General Von Steuben. .............and that person most responsible for giving us the ability to screen phone calls.
  4. Been waltzing his way though the legal system since at least '84. Next round of Senate votes on judicial nominees can't come soon enough.
  5. . -_- .Oh, no...wait a minute....wrong pic! Here she is!!!
  6. My Dad's a riot! He actually sent me the Father's Day gift this year --- a t-shirt & some rib recipes from the New England Barbeque Society's cook off up in NH last weekend. Naturally he had to enclose the photo he snapped of the reigning Miss New Hampshire.
  7. p.s. -- glad your eye is okay. In all seriousness, just last week I was advising my kids to shut or shield one eye when walking past someone who happens to be mowing close to where they might be walking, riding a bike or so....'cause when I was a kid, a small rock shot out of the mower and nailed a kid in the eye who was riding past.
  8. Yikes! I'll be sure to relay this to my wife and tell her to be extra careful out there!
  9. Just think of it as wading through the daily newspaper. Ya look.....ya bypass......ya lock onto something of interest -- all in about 2 seconds. Last Summer, in the garage, I built an experimental credit card-sized newspaper filter w/tiny arms & an alarm that you'd attach to page C-2 of the paper and it would sort of guide you through like a seeing eye dog. Snuck over to the neighbor's driveway and tried to test it out on their New York Times and the thing went into violent convulsions and the paper burst into flames.
  10. With a bit more tinkering at your end, you could have cobbled together this recipe and been a hero to kids, coast-to-coast. I'm washing 1,000 ripe Mulberries off the terrace daily with a hose.....anyone want 'em for their cereal?
  11. I received a lone disc cancellation notice last night telling me that the Lucky Strikes cd that showed up in the box on Thur. really wasn't there 'cause it had been cancelled. Oh, okay.
  12. Japanese? No. One on cassette, the other an eMusic MP3thang, babe. Non-music Q: what's up with the Red Tide biz up there? No clam roll for me in Ipswich this summer? This going all the way up to Kittery and beyond????
  13. this is on the "soon to be deleted" list as I too HAD it in my Q. ← I had Timmons in the #2 queue position for 8/17 shipment and just saw the posted note about limited availability...so I upped it to #1 (7/17) and the *warning* message disappeared. I take it that's a good thing? Sadly, the Cannonball/Poll Winners is already history.
  14. No broken jewelboxes, crushed digipaks.... and a 'Jazz in Paris' oversize box in tip top shape.
  15. I guess I'd better get this set sooner rather than later...not only for MS, but for Blues Walk -- one that never quite clicked (well, except for 'Callin' all Cats') so I ditched it about 5 years back. After reading some LD interview over at AAJ awhile back, I figured it might make sense to give it another listen. I remember that he was all fired up about 'Blues Walk'...said it's his only perfect recording and one that he listens to quite often in his car while cruising around. I thought that was a hoot....always wonder how many of these guys actually listen to their old stuff and get all giddy over it. That's nice.
  16. That didn't even come out in Nippon, did it?
  17. You're right! In these uncertain times, one must play good offense! Now's the time to get that Jazztet set!
  18. That's crazy talk....you'd better get with the program, Ace!!
  19. Received notification yesterday that everything in the order has shipped. Got into the game a bit late (5/29) and after reading some of the posts above, was about a half step from cancelling....and am shocked that they actually rounded 'em all up, including the Cohn that Free for All said he lost out on in an earlier 5/26 order. I'd written that one off big time! Sorry, FFA, don't hold it against me. Anyway, based on GA Russell's sobering post, we'll sit back and see if the 'Jazz in Paris' box arrives dented/crushed beyond recognition. Art Taylor-Taylor's Tenors Lucky Thompson-Lucky Strikes Howard McGhee-Maggie's Back In Town Vince Guaraldi-From All Sides Jaki Byard-On The Spot! Dave Brubeck-Jazz Impressions Of Eurasia Dave Brubeck-Jazz Impressions Of Japan Al Cohn- Al Cohn Quintet Cyrus Chestnut-The Dark Before The Dawn Jazz In Paris IV: Rive Gauche, Rive... 20. ...or the next Woody Shaw re-issue minus an entire track.
