  1. I just watched the 'Case of the Silk Stocking' and imo this Rupert Everett character is the best Holmes......post-Basil Rathbone.
  2. Anything new in CouponWorld? 2nd of Jan. seems like a good time to dash out and buy
  3. Anyone playing dress up and doing the New Years Day dinner thing? Not something we've done before.......but..... cruising the grocery store aisles on Fri., saw that they had turkey at 24 cents/lb so I lugged home a 22 lb unit thinking that it might be fun for us to break out the china from last weekend and have a sit down. The bird's now in the oven.....gonna scoop up all sorts of odds & ends for the stuffing in the casserole-- leftover hamburger buns, potato sandwich bread...a baguette....w/some green onions, raisins, chopped apples....maybe some clear onion broth and an egg. Hmmm, what else to toss in there???? Woah, this is weird.......no relatives hanging about the place either.
  4. Currently working our way through Season 2 (disc 4). I had to roll my eyes in disgust at the way the bed-hopping Brenda lets Nate twist a bit after coming clean re: his Seattle 'adventure,' all the while failing to utter a peep about her own latest round of 'activities' (ahem) with complete strangers. Quite clever also of the show's creators -- shocking, actually -- to craft a scene where Nate is attacked by his conscience when his four smiling couldawouldashouldabeen children suddenly appear. You could almost hear jaws dropping across the nation.
  5. Could be............but it sounds to me like you might actually be talking about Yusef Lateef on 'Judyful' from the Fuller Sextet "Images" Savoy one? Coincidentally, I saw the Curtis Fuller Quintet last weekend w/Ronnie Matthews and Lou Hayes. It was Fuller's B'day and Freddy Cole stopped by to sing a couple of numbers, which was a real treat! After the show Hayes had a cd or two rattling around in his bag so I bought 'Dreamin of Cannonball' off him (he was a bit miffed that he had to pack up his own kit). So that then, was my last CD purchase.
  6. I hear that Hardbop is trying hard to access Albertson's profile in order to mess with 'Bess.'
  7. That's a good one to get. $24.95 including shipping beats Mundo, Amazon Japan....and all the rest. http://cgi.ebay.com/CRY-ME-A-RIVER-John-Hi...1QQcmdZViewItem
  8. Yep. Rather spend $16 on a sandstone coaster
  9. Saw that too. For that kind of money, that thing outta do your taxes too.
  10. Sounds like something from the 'Harvest' LP w/the London Symphony Orch on a couple of tracks ('Man Needs a Maid"?)
  11. Well whatever they're using, I know how to bring them to their knees!!! I'll just feed 'em some Burl and listen to that sound recognition device sputter and drop dead. No way they have this in the data bank! ...and don't ask why I have it in the collection.
  12. Yes, why can't they hand him this one to play around with? Who cares if he wasn't the original engineer?
  13. from Direct-Disk Labs in '78. That company still around???
  14. No, wasn't paying attention........was too giddy over having been dressed up in that wicked cool cotton plush velour shirt by my Mom!
  15. I should have added one more: half of a crushed box this week...the other half next week
  16. Hmmm. I guess the thing that's impressive is that it still picks up on it even though the track times on your vinyl burn can be off by 2-5 seconds because you're manually inserting all the track numbers while recording. Still hard to believe that, with all the classical, rock, jazz LPs out there, there aren't a half dozen others that have similar track configurations/timing. Thanks.
