  1. ...anything's possible!
  2. Oh, okay.. ........anyway, back to Uncle Charley for a minute....I only plugged into the show after 1967 and never realized that William Demarest wasn't there from the get-go, and had in fact replaced the ailing William Frawley ('I Love Lucy')......
  3. Yeah man, I'm sho' man ya' wuz way mo'e waaay coo' and street smart dan some 8 year old girl and could see right drough all de hollow JIVE! http://rinkworks.com/dialect/
  4. Right! right! Kuhn's the one!
  5. Certainly!! With all the garbage on the tube, shows like that are great for kids. Munsters, etc.. too! ......oh, and 'A Family Affair' (w/Brian Keith and Sebastian Cabot) box set as well......another good 60's one for children that should be be released.
  6. If anyone's collecting these ones, a fair number of the TOCJ-6XXX series titles (Cool Struttin', Demon's Dance, Moanin', Blue Train, Somethin' Else, etc...) are now available at HMV Japan for $10 a pop. That's not bad.
  7. Anyone heard the Dewey Redman 'African Venus' one? Any good? Is he playing tenor or alto on it? p.s. Daniel, there's a new Hazeltine out today. Clips sound pretty good.
  8. Time Tunnel's good.....but what about My Three Sons?? Where's the My Three Sons set??? What's wrong with these people for not releasing a box? A no brainer!
  9. Hey, the map thing I can let slide.....but there are limits!!! It's when those high school kids start interning over at the JVC music dept for the summer and start mucking things up and threatening to poison the whole of civilization that we need to sound the clarion call to action. VICJ-60506 Bobby Timmons, Trio in Person +2 VICJ-60507 Barry Harris, Prominade VICJ-60508 Junior Mance, At the Village Vanguard VICJ-60509 Billy Taylor with Four Fruits VICJ-60510 Johnny Oberny with Warne Marsh, The Right Combination VICJ-60511 Thelonious Monk, At the Town Hall VICJ-60512 Cannonball Adderley Quintet, in New York
  10. I have it (1628)..........and still sealed no less!!! I'm just thinking of all the other deserving folk out there who need it!
  11. The document literacy question on page 60 is rather shocking. Only 74% of those who are about to graduate from a 4-year institution correctly answered it? .........and just 36% of all adults?
  12. You're not kidding! $36 shipping for 12 'steenking' mini-lps from Amazon Japan. Btw, nice of you to make such an offer........ the number of PMs you'll get would make an interesting poll question: A) 2 B) 3-10 C) 11-16 D) 17- I just lost a good friend. I'll say C.
  13. Well it would be interesting to see the actual poll questions to see what it is that they define as the task that people can't perform. If it was something basic like the interest rate on your unpaid balance versus something like understanding the fine print (ie: their rights under the Truth in Lending Act). I'd probably flunk the latter.
  14. I think they really screwed up by putting out another yet another TOCJ re-issue of these titles when they should have been spending their energy spitting out a fresh TOCJ series w/ The Rajah, Clubhouse, Hutcherson in Montreux, Z.T.'s Blues, etc..
  15. Herbie Mann 'My Kinda Groove' (Atlantic 1433) w/Dave Pike. Back cover lets you know that his wardrobe was provided by Sidney Arnold of Philadelphia. O Herbie, such the trendy clothes horse back in '65!!!!
  16. ...must be the newer 24-bit ones.
  17. Sounds very much like the 'NSA Today' chatroom? If your passport contains a dozen or so stamps from Damascus, Cyprus, Malta, etc and accumulated 'Awards Points' from the Holiday Inn Samarkand, Tbilisi or Madison, Wisconsin, you get that special invitation.
  18. .....though I think I'd prefer this cover.
  19. Yes, listening to it now...w/Kenny Clarke & Barney Wilen. It's quite good imo and shouldn't be missed over at eMusic
  20. Oh, 'The Gellers' ...I've been outbid on eBay several times on that japanese cd so I was happy to find that Membran version 10 minutes ago on eBay for $8 using the BIN (plus/$1.95 shipping). Looking forward to replacing the noisy vinyl burn.
  21. I think that the Japanese should honor his memory by releasing a nice little commemorative mini-lp box set containing these five Prestige LPs.
  22. So now we know there's a genetic predisposition toward becoming a police officer. Did they check Boston?
  23. Okay, thanks.
  24. This the Bagley cd you're referring to? Sure looks interesting. How's the sound?
  25. Okay, it's yours! You need any Jethro Tull burns to go with it?
