Jim S, Yes, they've schooled me in that procedure.....but powering off the computer was never part of the equation. Hmmm. On occasion, the unplug modem & then router routine seems to work. The thing is though, the router is a fairly recent addition and I've been logging calls to these folks well in advance of the time frame mentioned in my previous post. I'd just go with the flow for awhile and live with it....then get re-animated all over again when something really really bad happened -- like losing service just as I tried to cast a last minute bid on a Getz Japanese mini-lp last week! probot57!!!! You dodged a bullet on that one!!! You're a lucky man!!
