  1. Too busy watching the Stanley Cup Semifinals, so we missed it. That Carolina-Buffalo game last night was somethin' else!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  2. Chris, You forgot to add Mnytime to your 'Cold Case Files' list in that other forum?
  3. Chris, I could be wrong......times may have changed.....but isn't it still considered to be sort of out-of-line to carry on so outside of the political forum?? I'll respond to you somewhere else.
  4. Hey Chewy baby! You recently graduated from college didn't you? Forget the Playboy poll and concentrate instead on sending out 200 copies of your resume. Just trying to help.
  5. When those Spy vs. Spy characters suddenly popped up in some weird little tv ad a few years back (Coca-Cola? Carnival Cruise lines?? I dunno. ) I remember thinking that it was a sign that someone (like a Pixar) was at work on a film. Guess not. Hey, they've got a Spy vs. Spy Xbox game! It's not like the movie audience would be strictly limited to us 40-60 yr old farts! Bring on the film!
  6. Unless it's a sealed or is being sold by someone I know through the various boards, I limit most of my eBay purchases these days to sellers in Japan because I know for a fact that any cd that I buy -- be it labelled NM, excellent, very good, fell into aquarium and was attacked by koi carp, etc -- will be in perfect, or close to perfect, condition. Sure, it does limit your options a bit, but I never have to go through this kind of BS that this goober is pulling on you. That said, a couple of weeks ago I bought a used 1986 Japanese copy of Evans 'Green Dolphin Street' (VDJ-1576E) from an Amazon seller who described it as "perfect." If it didn't carry a $5.49 price tag I wouldn't have given it a 2nd look -- but I did......and it was/is "perfect".
  7. The 3 oldest cds in the collection are all by Tangerine Dream. I'm pretty sure that I bought them all in '86. 'Underwater Sunlight' was a UK import disc put out by Jive Recs. The other 2 are 'Green Desert' and 'Pergamon,' which was recorded live at the Palast Der Republik in East Berlin. The original 'Green Desert' cover that I have looks like: ....it was changed years ago and of course now looks nothing at all like a green desert. Go figure.
  8. I had all the MAD Books as a kid in the 60's and still have a few of 'em ('Token Mad', etc) kicking around the house. 'Snappy Answers to Stupid Questions' and 'The Lighter Side of...' were particular favorites!
  9. There's just no way that you could have chimps and humans going at it and end up with this! Just no way!
  10. Uugh! Damn, that IS bad news!! My Dad's flying down from Manchester on Sat....maybe I should have him bring a small plastic sack of goodies down before it's too late??!! Ha, ha,, that outfit! Ya know, I walked by the one in Salem last summer but didn't realize there was one in Peabody too? Where is it? ....around Boston Street??
  11. Unbelieveable. Someone forwarded these pics of St. Paul's to me. Used to play hockey up there.....sad to see this happening.
  12. Going to the Nationals vs. Orioles game on Sunday so decided to check the extended forecast. Looking okay ......so far. By late Fri. I'm sure they'll be predicting hail.
  13. I was reading an article recently about David Bromberg and his extensive violin collection & repair business up in Wilmington, DE and he said that for bows, his artisans only use horsehair from a certain Argentinian line known for having exceptionally strong/thin strands of hair. One wonders what the source was some 300 years ago? Perhaps hair from a line like the hanoverian breed that originated at about that time? Or perhaps another breed that has, over time (for various reasons) been 'altered' to the degree that it's no longer viewed as a prized source of horsehair? Would the horsehair (by today's standards) that's considered to be the 'cream of the crop' be viewed as a 'so-so' product by artisans/musicians of the day? So many questions.....
  14. I've had this series sitting in my Netflix queue for about 7 months. Suppose it's time to bump it up to the front of the line.
  15. ...and just think, stacks of Mobley's are still sitting on the shelves.
  16. Of that, I have no doubt. Heck, there are plenty of people who are out there plunking down $20, 30+ more for a "scarce" NM Mobley or Jazztet set that's still available. Once you tack on 'Rare'/'OOP' to the listing, you'll pull in the same sort of melonhead like me who'll spend $100+ for some 'Rare'/'OOP' mini-lp!!!
  17. They're very good --- quick shipping (4/5 days), timely updates, 'points' awarded that can periodically be cashed in to help slash costs on shipping.
  18. It's verrrrrry nice......just downloaded it from eMusic last week.
  19. Dreadful news about his death.......and a terrible shame that we'll never know what magic he had in store for us w/his next Venus release.
  20. Hans must be out with the flu or something so I'll pinch hit just this one time. I can't believe that they're already releasing another batch of the same Evans mini-lps so soon after the Evans K2s hit the shelves in Dec. Nice price though ...$16!!! ...sure beats the ¥2,500 on the last ones (aaargh!!) 21. Glad it's out again. Funny, after that initial post in '04, I managed to acquire 2 copies of that title and they were both gold discs (TKCV-35032). After years of serious searching, I never laid eyes upon the 'regular' cd issue posted in that pic on page 1 (TKCV-35112). What did they make.....like 20 copies?
  22. Somehow I have a hard time believeing that the "oddest sight" one will see around a Central Park water hole is a couple of rotted tree stumps.
