  1. No. You can't have the 2 options available...because most will -- out of habit -- gravitate to the 'established' forum below. I understand that I can send Ghost and Chris PMs and say 'let's meet in live chat at 10 pm'.....but the whole point of this was that if one wanted to curb the cursing, etc...you'd have but one type of environment.........one fishbowl.
  2. You can't do that......most of those going there now don't not want to yammer on about that stuff.
  3. Um, yeah....I was in there the other night. ...been in there with YOU too...remember? I mean having a similar set-up where, for example, the political forum is structured as a 'live' only forum rather than what we now have. Comprende?
  4. If certain areas of the board were set up to function as a 'live' chat room, I doubt that people would go off the rails. There's a different dynamic at work when you're in that environment. Actually, would it be possible to experiment with something like that, or is it technically too difficult? For folks who like to post lots of articles and so, I suppose that it would be difficult to navigate a 'live' room.........but it would be a hoot! Much more enjoyable to see how people think on their feet rather than have them duck away to spend an hour or two researching the various this & that(s) of a particular subject on Google so that they can return with a 'weighty' rebuttal. Chris vs. Conrad in 'Live' political chat - tonite! ........or perhaps we'll kick it off with Chris vs. Jerry in 'Live' chat.
  5. Nice that you've added "Do not settle for fake Russian/Finnish, etc. copies far from the master tapes" to the item descr. Guess alot of sellers have taken to running with a similar sounding warning. Good....those trolls need to be run out of business.
  6. Saw this pop-up on eBay. Despite the fact that Schildkraut & Joe Wilder are on board, I find myself always fast forwarding through most of the first larger group session ('Basically Duke') in order to get to 'Happy Minor' (tracks 7-13) w/Mitchell/Sims/Brookmeyer/Candoli/Williamson/Levey. Anyone else? I wish Bethlehem would just reissue the Mitchell as a stand alone disc...they just don't pair up well imo. Maybe it's out as an LP in Japan? http://cgi.ebay.com/RED-MITCHELL-HAPPY-MIN...1QQcmdZViewItem
  7. A descriptive term that pops-up with amazing frequency on many boards..........sounds fancier than 'tiring' but actually means what? You start to twitch? Feel exhausted and in need of a Red Bull after 3 tracks? You get cranky and yell at your wife? what? Chewy wants to know!!!
  8. So? What if it's the guy who's getting what should be your Soultrane? Don't you want his order delayed a bit?
  9. Okay, so I've been a bit of a squeaky wheel on this. Save the oil and pass me a few drops of Sancerre rosé instead!
  10. Bill Nelson's Rednoise 'Sound-on-Sound' (Harvest)
  11. Agreed. I have to say that they really did a nice job packing these things up....they certainly didn't have to double-box the cds and such. I'm tired of receiving packages that are thrown together by clods so I think I'll call these folks today and thank them.
  12. .....speaking of Wallington, wouldn't it be nice to see this on CD? I know I've been wanting to hear it for years. Come on Larry...use your 'pull' and start the lobbying campaign....work the magic to get that rabbit out of the hat!!!! 13. Holy man! No wonder your lawn is so high! Stop gossiping so much and get out there and crank up the mower before the summer ends!!
  14. I had exactly the opposite experience ---- only called one time to make sure that the credit card # was a go and had a very pleasant conversation with the guy....chatted about the 'news' of the sale making the rounds on the various bulletin boards....even spelled out for him some of the links to a few of these boards so that they might possibly check in. He was appreciative and quite friendly. So watch it and don't say anything to piss them off -- they're watching!! I told 'em Nessa was the bad apple to keep an eye on.
  15. Yep.....3 or 4 years with the North Stars as well!!!
  16. Leeway is Italian and so is Catesta --- so Catesta must have been Leeway....and the two of them obviously were engaged in a conspiracy against Fitzgerald. Everyone knows it but the lone guy who's packing up all the cd orders at Concord.
  17. Jim, there has to be some way to start all threads with this quote. ...then again, someone else appears to have been "mixed up" about the Evans 'Manne-Hole' disc ---- turns out it is the K2.
  18. Good luck!!! I'm on the Alexandria/Arlington line and my packages were loaded on the delivery truck at at the main Alexandria facility at 1:00 am Sunday/Monday and still haven't arrived -- 10 miles away!!! Apparently, they incorrectly flagged the address as 'business' rather than 'residence' and they went on the wrong truck!! This has happened w/them before. Nimrods! When ya have a choice....UPS is always the way to go imo!
  19. Whoopee - even my 'Lem's Beat' Not so fast!!!! Your little precious is now being held in the basement while a 'Lem-for-Lush Life' prisoner swap is being negotiated. I'm adhereing to Geneva Convention dicates and letting it out for 10 minutes of fresh air and one cigarette per day.
  20. Yeah, where did Mike go? It's been over a year. Did Lowe flip out and start trashing Gigi Gryce?
  21. Eh, I suppose I know what ya mean... .......but ya know, for an old broad she's still got some decent looking legs -- so it's not all that bad! Now don't take it too hard and start sulking around the office. But if it'll help, I'll drop Pelosi and insert the name of some 'crackerjack' NHL player instead. Hmmm let's see....some real swifty? Um, how about Gump "Anyone who wears one is chicken. My face is my mask" Worsley?
  22. Don't worry, I've got my own "You and Pelosi have the IQ of a piece of furniture, so....... up over and out this!!" pre-programmed response.
  23. BILL, MILES, JOE, J.J., PHIL & ART (CBS)
  24. Dude, I just noticed--that's the OJC. The K2 (PRCD-7188-2) IS still available. Aww, you're kidding? Rats.... I coulda sworn that I ordered the K2. Guess Chuck was right about someone getting 'mixed up'. Hey, if you've exhausted the other jazz titles, you could always fill out another order with some Debbie Boone and Michael Bolton (see? there IS an advantage to the Concord takeover). Naaa, screw it. Time to walk away. Can't cry about a cd. Gotta stay positive! I saved $3!!!
