All these damn cruise ships being built to go bob about in the caribbean, yet there isn't a liner left that makes the Hamburg-New York run. '65 was the last time for me on the 'Bremen' and I'd like to do it again. -

This is t-h-e set responsible for getting me into jazz. Prior to hearing it played in a music shop in Austria, I'm pretty sure that the only jazz stuff I had on hand was a Ronnie Laws ('Pressure Sensitive') cd.....a Stanley Clarke ('Journey to Love') ...and a couple of Chick Corea LPs. It just blew me away. -

Heineken is another beer that doesn't travel well. In the States it is skunky and I don't care for it at all. In Amsterdam, it's delicious! Amstel Beer is decent too......but you can't get it here. Just that 'Light' stuff. Wonder why? Jon, looks as though we'll be over there in a couple of months....where's a decent place to stay these days in the city ctr? It's been 20 yrs anyway. -
Up in NYC last month, I was sitting at the bar in an Irish pub and noticed that there wasn't any Guinness listed (draught or bottle) ....so I asked about it. The bartender said that alot of the pub owners are still yanked off at Guinness and that a boatload of brewery employees who'd been uncerimoniously given the axe by Guinness and were quickly scooped up by Anheuser-Busch, are now brewing -- here in St. Louis -- the Bare Knuckle Stout that's listed on this page.. He poured us a few sample glasses of draught.....and it's damn good stuff! This might be old news but I sure missed it.........hadn't heard a peep about this new AB product....or the story behind it. Anyone else in the U.S. notice Bare Knuckle being sold in their local Irish joint?

A .pdf cannot infect your computer (as far as I know) but the term "self-extracting" is scary, scary. That means the file is an .exe file. NEVER click ANY .exe files! All .exe files? I think my Nikon View shortcut desk icon is an .exe -- that's a bad thing? -

Poor Bollinger. I don't think I've ever seen a replacement QB get sacked three times in a row when he first takes to the field. The only dumb thing I noticed out of Belichick was when, with about 8 min. left in the game, he had 'em go for the 1st down when it was something like 4th-and-3. At that point, when you're up by 22 points you give your field goal kicker a little action so that he can practice hammering home a 50 yarder or so, right? -
That's kind of a neat, definitely unique, story! If I'd been in your shoes back then -- living as you were in Romania 'cause Dad was the U.S. Ambassador -- I doubt I would have hatched such a plan to go out trick-or-treating just for the helluva it to see what might happen. Who were you dressed up as? Brezhnev?

Say, are you the guy thats been bidding against me on all those onedrop777 and takarayama auctions? Looking forward to getting the last two Stans ('West Coast Jazz' & "Jazz Giants '58) that I've been after. Good, thanks......it's that '59 material I'd like. -

Is this the '52 material or the '59 stuff? The domestic cd combines the two, right?
