  1. Oh, brother...now PR man Rubenstein has him kissing that horrible race-baiting worm Sharpton's ring?? If Richards had some self-respect left he'd say: 'look, I apologized once....but I'm sayin' NFW to that suggestion of yours, Ruby! I'll work at Best Buy for the rest of my life before kissing his rump.'
  2. B&N is saying Nov 28th which makes it a strong candidate for inclusion on the list ('help-out-your-favorite-mother-in-law-by-giving-her-one-easy-to-locate-holiday-suggestion'). Who knows though... maybe B&N is full of it?
  3. Anyone see the recent announcement by Broadcom about the new chipset replacement that combines both Blu-Ray and HD DVD optical disc formats into an integrated, single chip design? How far off then is a universal player w/Blu-Ray, HD DVD, SACD, DVD-A? We're seriously considering upgrading the old tube and going Pioneer Plasma 50' or so but it doesn't seem to make sense to drop a dime on either player yet....just wait it out for a universal player, right? I'm interested to know what others here are doing (planning to do?) on the DVD front?
  4. From an AOL story: "Rodriguez had been waiting outside the New York Circuit City store since Sunday for the midnight launch event, and he was the first to walk away with the PS3 as people still standing in line outside the store cheered." I can't even think of what it would take for me to hang outside of a store for an 3 full days? I suppose that two first class Lufthansa tickets to Berlin and a two week comped stay at the Hotel Adlon Kempinski followed by a Swiss Air flight down to Lausanne and a week or two at the Hotel Beau-Rivage on Lake Geneva might be a start.....but?
  5. This is an excellent example of an OMFG! Updated: 01:06 PM EST Simpson to Discuss How He'd Have Killed Ex-Wife By EDWARD WYATT, The New York Times LOS ANGELES (Nov. 14) - O. J. Simpson, who was acquitted 11 years ago in the 1994 death of his wife, Nicole Brown Simpson, and her friend Ronald L. Goldman has written a book and will appear on television telling “how he would have committed the murders if he were the one responsible,” his publisher and the Fox television network said on Tuesday.
  6. Wondering about the Geller 'Gypsy'. Anybody like/dislike it?
  7. The swings were okay.....nowhere as near as bad as one of the guys out there w/us who popped a 5-wood shot up into the tree and it got stuck! Thanks for the well wishes, Red.......and the rest of you folks as well!

  9. Happy B'Day from an old friend from your days in Asia!!
  10. Well it doesn't sound like you're belting back a cold Olde Frothingslosth, so life can't be that good!! Get with the program!!
  11. All these damn cruise ships being built to go bob about in the caribbean, yet there isn't a liner left that makes the Hamburg-New York run. '65 was the last time for me on the 'Bremen' and I'd like to do it again.
  12. This is t-h-e set responsible for getting me into jazz. Prior to hearing it played in a music shop in Austria, I'm pretty sure that the only jazz stuff I had on hand was a Ronnie Laws ('Pressure Sensitive') cd.....a Stanley Clarke ('Journey to Love') ...and a couple of Chick Corea LPs. It just blew me away.
  13. Light beer can stunt your growth and make your unit fall off.
  14. Heineken is another beer that doesn't travel well. In the States it is skunky and I don't care for it at all. In Amsterdam, it's delicious! Amstel Beer is decent too......but you can't get it here. Just that 'Light' stuff. Wonder why? Jon, looks as though we'll be over there in a couple of months....where's a decent place to stay these days in the city ctr? It's been 20 yrs anyway.
  15. Up in NYC last month, I was sitting at the bar in an Irish pub and noticed that there wasn't any Guinness listed (draught or bottle) ....so I asked about it. The bartender said that alot of the pub owners are still yanked off at Guinness and that a boatload of brewery employees who'd been uncerimoniously given the axe by Guinness and were quickly scooped up by Anheuser-Busch, are now brewing -- here in St. Louis -- the Bare Knuckle Stout that's listed on this page.. He poured us a few sample glasses of draught.....and it's damn good stuff! This might be old news but I sure missed it.........hadn't heard a peep about this new AB product....or the story behind it. Anyone else in the U.S. notice Bare Knuckle being sold in their local Irish joint?
  16. How so? Position a wall phone jack in such a way that the upper door on a double oven range would strike the phone when opened? I've seen that design.
