  1. I hope you cleaned it up! The light reflecting off the gold label somehow manages to give that pool of spring water a desirable beer-like tint. Interesting trick photography.
  2. That's what I keep telling Johnny.... but every time I make a move to hug him he acts as though I'm trying to plant an RNC listening device on him!
  3. That seems like ages ago.......pretty sure I was using the DontAttackAraq moniker back then.
  4. Hey, fabulous news, Wulf!!
  5. Woa! Bummer! I'll have to rustle up some cds fer ya and put you in a better mood.
  6. No offense intended.....but this "my own" money thing between some married couples is something that is quite foreign to me. I don't quite get what it's all about. ....or were you just joking?
  7. Last night, I walked away with a Tripp Lite LC-1800 1800-Watt Line Conditioner that someone brought to the New Year's Eve party for the post-midnite 'White Elephant' gift exchange game. Never tried one....we'll hook 'er up to the MAC and see what happens. Hopefully not ZzzzzZssssssazzzzssstttttt sizzzleeeeecrackle....
  8. Interesting. I must confess that I never even think to engage them on matters such as this because I just assume that it'll be but another exercise in banging one's melon against a wall.
  9. Had the Tina Brooks vinyl set spinning last night.
  10. Can't you make an electronic payment for the minimum over the weekend? When you do that, you're likely to get hit with some variation of the $14.99 'convenience' fee that some of 'em are charging.
  11. Geez, uh...no kidding! Hey, um.....to the guy in mitteleuropa -- looks like I'll have to mail your disc on Wed. It'll be worth the slight delay. WASHINGTON, Dec. 29 /PRNewswire/ -- There will be no regular mail delivery or retail service at Post Offices on Tuesday, Jan. 2, 2007, due to an Executive Order issued by President Bush directing federal government agencies to close as a mark of respect for former President Gerald Ford, who died Dec. 26. Express Mail deliveries will be made on Jan. 2. Regular retail and delivery service will resume Wednesday, Jan. 3. U.S. Postal Service employees should not report to work on Tuesday, Jan. 2, 2007 unless they are contacted by their supervisor and instructed specifically to do so.
  12. Hey, no bubble bursting allowed!!!! Just got back from Sarasota and found the box waiting. It's the real deal........sealed 8-cd set w/no dents, tire treadmarks, etc.
  13. Gosh, no kidding! My youngest had it on Mon and now the oldest daughter is suffering today. We're supposed to go to a matinee performance of the 'Nutcracker' at 2:00......better load her up with cold meds so that the ballerinas don't start glaring up at our seats full of hackers & wheezers. Guess that means that I can expect to come down with it sometime around Christmas Eve. Time then to battle the 'bug' by busting out that Caol Ila 19 yr old Cooper's Choice Single Malt I've been saving.

  15. Thanks. I was just about to skip some pain meds, but decided to obey orders...at least until tomorrow. David I had the double inguinal surgery about a year and a half ago. I couldn't believe how painful it was...and I took the meds. Catching the stomach flu 24 hours after leaving the hospital and having dry heaves with all that lovely new stitching was the worst thing I've ever experienced. Good luck & a quick recovery to ya!!
  16. I think....think ...that I may have stumbled into a good deal over at Amazon Canada yesterday and snagged the Consecration box for a darned nice price -- CDN$ 12.72 ($11 US?? ). With an $8 shipping charge my guess is that it's the 8-disc box. Is this possible??? Have received a confirmation notice so we'll see what happens.
  17. My wife appreciates the music and the collectibility craze of mine with the mini-lps and all. She likes to go up to The Kitano and visit the in-house club and a few others like Birdland and the VV. If she's in her car driving to work in D.C. (plotting, scheming, deciding the fate of small nations, while tightly gripping the wheel ) she'll always have on something that's pretty revved-up like Tom Petty, Pat Benatar, AC/DC or Damn Yankees (most of which I've bought for her because she's not one to hit the cd stores)......but up here in the study likes to listen to jazz when in after hours relaxation mode. The only time she had a sour look on her face was when I attempted to spin the Trane/Pharoah 'Live' in Seattle disc.....truthfully, neither of us liked it.
  18. I was wondering if they'd do something like put Steve Irwin on there for all of his good nature/environmental awareness raising deeds? Would have been better than YOU.
  19. That's good! ....I know you've been iso that for awhile.
  20. Takarayama had one up one ebay this morning. I was all set to bid but got distracted. Cripes, we're probably all bidding against one another on half his auctions. I hate that 'private auction' biz.
  21. When you get your refund, why don't you use it to bid on this nice record with Kinny Durham on it? http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewI...type=osi_widget
  22. Don't know if you're wedded to the leg of lamb idea, but have you thought about rack of lamb that you put on the grill? Looks to me like you're looking at pretty big crowd and will have to make that recipe twice over...... alot of prep time and cooking time. You can get beautiful racks of New Zealand lamb at Costco for about $11 each. Unless it's a heavy eating crowd, you'd probably need 9 or 10 racks total (4 at a time on a large grill). I've used this recipe several times and it's good. You can do half of 'em with the marinade and the other half lightly coated with olive oil and rubbed with a mixture of herbs. Just ignore all the 'butcher/frenching' biz if you get the vacuum sealed racks. Serve up some nice thick asparagus (always peel it) w/butter, mint jelly and rice pilaf and you're golden. http://whatscookingamerica.net/LambRackPinot.htm ......and a good, affordable, widely available, higher octane Zinfandel to serve with lamb: http://www.seghesio.com/seghesio/catalog/v...07&cat_id=1
  23. Sorry to hear it. He seemed like a pretty good guy.
