  1. To me, it's the weakest set McLean did in his entire run at Blue Note. Shockingly conservative and not too inspired to my ears. But almost all things Blue Note seem to eventually come back around. Hey, you could be right. Then again, Butch Warren is da bomb on the title track, which is all I care about.
  2. Kevin, ..speaking of seeing the light of day..... any reason you can think of why 'Tippin' The Scales' hasn't bounced back into print?
  3. National Gallery of Art Sculpture Garden.......2 hrs ago. Looking down Constitution Avenue 'Strange Bodies' at The Hirshhorn Museum Embassy of Canada.... Pennsylvania Avenue Wales is showcased at the Smithsonian Folklife Festival on the National Mall
  4. ....bringing DeAnna Pappas ('The Bachelorette') back from a USO show at a Special Ops base on the Peruvian/Columbian border?
  5. Why not look for "The Lost Sessions" instead? So this then is the only surviving track from the 1965 session with Tyner, Hubbard & Higgins. Have you ever heard what happened to the rest of the session tapes? A fire? ...erased? ....labeled 'Lost' because they're weak? other?
  6. Just connected for the first time in 8 months. huh.
  7. Collectors bore me. Btw, I need OBIs for 'The Cat Walk' 'The Connection' and 'Adam's Apple' ....anyone got a spare?
  8. WBCN & Incubus. What a weird little.. um, interview.
  9. Yeah, I know.....I was reviewing the surveillance footage and saw you lead them out the front door. How ever did you manage to disarm them and slip the handcuffs on?
  10. I'd send the HMV Japan folks a quick note and ask them to verify that this is in fact the right disc (they speak english). True, the photo in the item description is incorrect...and there are 7 tracks listed (they've probably bungled and pulled the track info from the 2008 JPN RVG edition (TOCJ-7125) with the extra track) but the June 30, 1993 release date matches up perfectly for TOCJ-4029 ...and that's the key thing to look for in their listings. Also, the 'regular price' info is in line with the original 2,300 Yen figure. So, for $19 plus shipping, probably worth it to drop them a line. http://www.hmv.co.jp/en/product/detail/20524
  11. I don't believe that it actually exists. There's the JRVG that you've heard before...plus a couple of TOCJ reissues from 2005 and 2007 (6500 & 7000 series???) No DD in that 4000 Series.
  12. He's from over at the Hoffman board so he's not beaming in from Mars. I think he likes Horace Silver TOCJs?
  13. All ready for Summer with a couple of new Tees. ...but what's wrong with this picture??
  14. Since this product seems to be moving pretty well, will the industry Evans-watchers take note and decide to reissue the Verve collection in something other than the clunky rust box?
  15. My great-grandmother died while aboard a passenger liner on a trip back from Italy in the 60's. In her final minutes she said something to the infirmary attendants about contacting my grandmother to tell her about $100,000 that was hidden somewhere in the house....then she was gone. Though there was some question about her rapid medical deterioration and quite possibly delusional state of mind at the time, we poked around a bit over the years but never found anything....so who knows? We sold the house in the early 90's. Say, anyone want to go bust up a house in the Boston burbs? I'll give you the address!
