  1. Well, it's October...... so obviously I'd don my Reagan mask.
  2. For home invasion? Not exactly.....try the Remington 870 pump-action. Pepper Spray and tasers are for Berkeley students protesting outside the Army recruiting office.....or fistfights at Newbury Comics over the last Don Pullen Select.
  3. Evil, huh? I was think something more along the lines of Kryptonite Man 'cause you did such a swell job of warding off that Karl Berger guy.
  4. Then you should be suspicious of Johnny E, too. Cliff, that "ill-informed" line really does come off as haughty/snobby. ....and since we're talking "ill-informed," it might be worth the effort to actually do a wee bit of basic research before commenting on someone's posting style. A basic search of his posting history from April, 2007 forward clearly shows that -- with 2 lone exceptions -- his first 70 posts were in the music forums -- and it was only in February of this year that he seems to have put down roots in the pol forum. Greg, My guess is that had this same poster arrived in 2006, and basically proceeded to play the exact same game -- though with Bush being the object of his dart throwing & wisecracks -- he'd be somewhat of a popular character down in the political forum weedbed. Characters abound ..and periodically bounce off the walls...Lowe, Clementine........but somehow, this one guy was simply too much to stomach, huh? Oh, well. Hey, at least Jim was honest about it -- he got sick of it. Not that the guy was cursing people out.....not that he was threatening to punch 'em in the eye...or stalk them -- like the one poster here who suggested that someone contact Bixie's boss at work to tell 'em that he might be posting from his place of business. Woa. Hey, speaking of stalking -- don't look now but Chris A is back to haunt Use3D!! Chris, how goes it? Vic Christianson's been looking for you.
  5. I can't believe that Hiroshi has had a copy of the Infinity TOCJ sitting there for weeks now with no takers? Another great one that used to be a bi*** to find.
  6. Yep, definitely a keeper, that one! I'd also recommend the Kamuca 'West Coast Jazz in Hi-Fi' cd w/Rosolino, Candoli, Holman, Guaraldi, etc. ...as well as Lou Levy's 'Jazz in Four Colors' (RCA)
  7. I just placed one in a cart & was about to pull the trigger on PayPal .....then decided to check my account and discovered that one I'd already pre-ordered a few weeks ago has shipped! Had forgotten about it! DUH! Too many purchases.
  8. My bad, the Bill Evans was a six disc set. Great deal at the mistake price. Even better was the JPN box (now selling for $140) that Amazon initially let go for $22.98. I think that's about the best deal/steal I've ever had online.
  9. Since we're not talking mid-20th century assembly lines I have a hard time believing that this is the case. How many SACDs can be churned out per day? 10,000? 12,000? What was the run on some of those MFSL discs like Art Pepper or Milt Jackson? 2,500? 5,000 tops?
  10. Had this tonite. Too bad Couw isn't still around...........he'd recognize it.
  11. Right, it's not. They appear to be running about 2 months behind schedule on these SACDs.
  12. I just bought Michael Cuscuna's mint JPN PJ Fischer LPs yesterday on eBay for 12.99 a pop. It's only a slice of the pie for this set........but a sweet one! Now why didn't I think of this approach? From 'the horse's mouth', no less ! Are you guys talking about that bluenotesound guy? He's got some more sealed, low-numbered, OOP Mosaics up for auction. Just wait 20 more years and you might find his stash of Piano Trios for sale. Yes. Looks like he's got a DeFranco/Clark on there now. I tried to track down some of that set recently at Amazon Japan, and they are all OOP and waaaay expensive. Wish I'd ordered 'em back in '03. $133 for 'Sweet & Lovely'? Bit steep, eh? 14. I have never been in a half-way house - they don't have any for Nigerian royalty like me - Hey, sounds like you're in the same boat as this woman! Maybe she ('the king') can help you find a job? At a minimum, you two should form a support group......or go and get married and become her queen? Peggielene Bartels stands in the atrium of the Embassy of Ghana in Northwest Washington, where she has worked since the late 1970s. She is also king of Otuam, Ghana. Secretary by Day, Royalty by Night Embassy Worker Remotely Rules a Ghanaian Town By Paul Schwartzman Washington Post Staff Writer Wednesday, September 16, 2009 The king folds her own laundry, chauffeurs herself around Washington in a 1992 Honda and answers her own phone. Her boss's phone, too. Peggielene Bartels lives in Silver Spring and works as a secretary. When she steps off an airplane in Ghana on Thursday, arriving in the coastal town her family has controlled for half a century, she will be royalty -- with a driver, a chef and an eight-bedroom palace, albeit one in need of repairs she will help finance herself. "I'm a big-time king, you know," said Bartels, seated at her desk at the Ghanaian embassy just off Van Ness Street NW, where she has worked for almost 30 years. In the humdrum of ordinary life, people periodically yearn for something unexpected, some kind of gilded escape, delivered, perhaps, by an unanticipated inheritance or a winning lottery ticket. ............................ http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/conte...9091503393.html

  16. If he's nuts, sooner or later he'll find his way into the political forum....so keep your eyes peeled!!!
  17. The last couple of minutes of 'Arriving Soon' ............
  18. I think that Mosaic should go that route as well. There are 5 or 6 of them, right? Would make a nice set. Anybody here ever floated the idea to them???
  19. Don't know if you've been hitting the local shops...but if so, are the JPN stereo releases that are being sold individually (not in box sets) actual mini-lps like the mono ones, or digi sorta things?
  20. 13th? Spend an evening outside doing what? Eating and drinking. Then why a Tue. nite and not the Fri, Sat or Sun of that long weekend? Make it a 6-11.
