Son-of-a-Weizen

About once a month, I'll saute a pot of sliced bell peppers which are packed with Vitamins A and C....more so than an orange from what I've been told. To do it right, you really need to cook them down for about 3-4 hours (stirring every 20 minutes or so) on low heat so that they just start to turn a nice golden color and are super sweet. Some of the vitamins will leach out into the olive oil so you need to save all of that. I make a sort of burrito and roll up in a sun-dried tomato wrap some refried beans, chunks of chicken, 4 or 5 cherry tomatoes, some loose spinach leaves, 2 or 3 tablespoons of the cooked peppers, a tablespoon or two of grated parmesan or romano......then nuke it for 2 minutes and top the finished product with some mashed avocado and some chili lime hot sauce. The before & after shots from yesterday with 12 red, yellow & orange bells. Last night we put a few spoonfuls on mashed potatoes......'twas perfect!

My 'ol beat-up copy from '54. Some fine short stories by O. Henry, Joe Alsop, Ring Lardener, Irvin Cobb, C.S. Forester, Faulkner, Joe Hergesheimer (anyone here ever read Hergesheimer's 'Java Head'?). Includes various cover reprints spanning the decades. The March 6,1948 one by Rockwell ('Gossip') is a hoot. A great collection that you can get for a song over at Amazon. 1 cent!

Yes, Lutefisk....and washed down with Aquavit, the worst booze I've ever had. Proud of the 'ol Norwegian roots but a guy's got his limits and I had to pour close to a full bottle down the drain! Blech! Never heard of this stuff before you mentioned it! Horrors!

Yes, 'The Rajah' -- as Lon mentioned -- is another from the 1600 series that used McMaster.....as did the TOCJ-66XXX ones like 'Street Singer' and 'Redd's Blues'. That said, I'm still a longtime JRVG fan -- love the sound on my system (MA6900, MCD301, Dynaudio Countour S3.4). Heck, am I the only one left here who listens to 'em? So lonely.
