  1. A very solid performance!!! And now for the gold cup....what am I going to get at a local seafood joint tonite? 1. fried oysters 2. 3 pints of ice-cold Stella Artois (Belgium) 3. the check.
  2. Okay....and the rope, pre-cut in even lengths, was manufactured in which country?
  3. You're that good huh? Okay then......when the Russians shot all of those Polish officers out in the Katyn Forest in '40 and bound their hands behind their backs, what did they stuff in many of the victims mouths (gag) before dispatching them with a round?
  4. I thought Nessa was on vacation? How'd he sneak in here to cause such a ruckus?
  5. No contest here.......rain or shine it's "Pretty Brown" from'ELVIN!'
  6. The pupil-constricted eye of one of those Thai 'sea gypsy' children who can see clearly underwater?
  7. A real winner! A number of previously unissued versions of "Satin Doll" (with a healthy level of background crowd chatter), "Cherokee" and 'One-O'Clock Jump"....as well as a "Lil' Darlin" false start. Sound quality is excellent.....b&w booklet is in japanese. As for the packaging, it's truly a shame that this Garland box hit the shelves after the first of the Mosaic Select sets were released because had the Mosaic folks seen this beautiful, glossy, sturdy black box, I've no doubt that they would have made an effort to duplicate it rather than go the low-quality flimsy cardboard route. When you hold the Carmell Jones Select in one hand and the Garland box in the other you just have to shake your head and wonder.
  8. Hopefully, DSD remastering. If not...then an expensive albeit incredibly sturdy box like the Red Garland "Complete at the Prelude" that just arrived.
  9. I couldn't take the torture any longer so I decided to order the Japanese cd set as well...now counting the days 'till the July 2 release.
  10. I'd rather listen to Chet Baker sing than watch a boxing match.
  11. <<<<Perhaps they're Republicans! >>>> I doubt they are.....but I'll send a coded message over to RNC headquarters and demand that they install an agent or two over there to personally assist you, Johnny, Alex or Nessa with any future publishing endeavors. All I can say is that you're lucky that Amazon is only handing out stars for books ---- were I to direct them to 'grade' you on accuracy here on the political threads, you might find yourself receiving something like 1/8 of a star from them !!
  12. Then we'd probably have to take the 'Yaz' bat to you.
  13. Personally I object to those who carry BB conversations over into other venues such as this with an intent to do harm. That said, it also seems a bit odd that a site like Amazon would actually surrender the name of a reviewer like this. How can Amazon be sure that there is some sort of vendeta at work here? Are they reviewing the back-n-forth at an AAJ thread -- none of which has anything to do with translating skills -- or perusing archived BN threads and studying comments issued by some guy known as "Hardbop"? How are they to know that by revealing the reviewers name an author might not then go off half-cocked and try to settle a score with someone who lives in the same city no less? I'm not implying that Chris would do that....but you can't tell me that there aren't as many petty, vindictive characters out there in the publishing world as there are in any other profession. On second thought....Chris, will you be bringing a 'corked' bat to his apartment... or just your 'ol Yastremski lefty black bat?
  14. ....then God help us all !
  15. This is at the top of my 'need to buy' list so that I can ditch the vinyl. Cover is alot better looking than the cruddy smash one too. Would like to see the Dave Burns Vanguard Lps come out on disc as well.
  16. Test. Test soulstation avatar. Test
  17. Good gravy! The 'ol single malt sippin' Herr Dr. SidRat is back. Greetings.
  18. I'd have to go with Hubbard's "Goin' Up".
  19. Looks like Pigman's down in Kill Devil Hills, NC bit the dust, so we're in need of a replacement. Anyone have a favorite babyback outfit out there in TN/NC/MO/Ark. that'll cryovac the bejeesus out of 'em & ship overnight ? Hey, even ND'll work if they're good....do they even do ribs in places like ND???
  20. Chuck and I were supposed to hang out and drain a couple of Strohs the first week of April....but when I followed the very detailed set of directions he'd sent me, I wound up at Aric's front door. Hhmm.
  21. That is a good deal....appreciate the offer! No need though, I'm ready to take the plunge w/out a life jacket....so please shoot an address my way and I'll get down to business and start lickin' a stamp.
  22. Davis Cup was a letdown for me. Damn Your Eyes!!! As was McLean's "Capuchin Swing." Damn Your Eyes Again!!!
