Hmm...maybe I just got lucky but the only thing the clerk said to me is "that's a darn good savings on this". do you have unsealed ones you listen to? Sure I listen to 'em. In fact, I was checking out 'Indestructible' last night and after a few spins, decided that the extra track ('It's a Long Way Down') is my favorite one on the cd. How do you know your kids will want them? Good question.....it's difficult for any of us to predict what exactly -- if anything -- our children will enjoy and want to keep long after we've hit the bone orchard, right? Who's to say that one's kids won't make the determination that they actually can't stand that bird's-eye maple bedroom set that mom & dad spent a small fortune to acquire and ditch it for peanuts the first chance they get so that they can then pick up some trendy stainless steel furniture? In my case, I'm pretty sure that my kids -- who've rarely not seen me up here in the study fiddling around with an lp, cassette or cd, while periodically cursing at some guy named Johnny E who resides behind the PC screen -- will enjoy having them. If not, I've left explicit instructions to sell the entire lot at a spectacular premium to some legendary Mosaic collector up in MA named Tod who keeps them all stacked in an oversize tropical bird aviary. Of course, that is pretty expensive, I would think. Well, yeah....if a guy had to drop $100 on an open copy of the 'Blue Train' JRVG over at eBay, that could get expensive mighty fast. I dunno, there are alot of folks around here who spend wads of cash on their Nautilus speakers and various other components. Not my gig....but if they enjoy it..great! p.s. You sell your JRVGs once you pick up a Mosaic set? Huh? Better keep the volume down on the Jets game at your place today.....I've dispatched Achtung Dr. Freud to your address and the doorbell should be ringing at any moment.

Since no one had the foresight to squirrel away a collection of original 50's/60's BN vinyl for me, I decided to try and do the next best thing and build a collection of these for my 2 kids.....sounds nutty doesn't it? Hopefully they won't sell the entire lot in 2018 for chump change in order to buy vintage Wayne Newton or Julio Iglesias records.

....2,500+ songs from ones hard drive to disk for safe keeping? I don't have a zip drive...and the older blank floppy discs that I have are about 2 mb which hold next to nothing. Are there higher density floppy discs -- say 400-500MB -- that I can use rather than have to mess around with picking up an IOMEGA 1 gig JAZZ drive or so?

With the exception of the 2 'limited/contest' titles you've mentioned above, I have a sealed copy of every title from Adderley (TOCJ-9001) up through Byrd (TOCJ-9530) -- which works out to 298, correct? I have half of those TOCJ-66111-66130 JRVG titles on your list (Davis, Blakey, Johnson, Dorham, Clark) but did not originally count them because they're not in mini-lp format. But technically you're correct about their being JRVGs so we'll add those in --- 303. The additional 92 duplicates (some sealed, some open playing copies) brings us to 395. p.s. I think I have a lot. Those plastic mylar sleeves are annoying (ripping, adhesive smear) but there doesn't seem to be an alternative. Savoy used to sell their mini-lps inside a clear, hard plastic slipcase that did the trick. For some reason they quit making 'em.

It's perfectly embarassing having to transfer that fistful of cubans from my european UN pals golfbag into my own while scanning the horizon for nosy interlopers whilst we zig-zag our way across the 16th fairway at full throttle in a heavily camouflaged golf cart.

My recommendation is to start putting the gentle squeeze on the in-laws so that you've got 'em all lined up to do a little babysitting down the road when junior hits 8 mo. and you and the missus need to catch a little flight out of BWI to Bermuda for some R&R and a boatload of Fosters on draft. Trust me...it's never too early to start planning. B)
