  1. Why go the messy route when a poison tipped umbrella will do the trick?
  2. Right. Nothing even remotely close to the paint peeling sonics that spill out of Mr. J.
  3. Singing? no....just a few pleasant low key murmerings & mutterings during his solos.
  4. Five years ago I bought a Hubbard 'Goin' Up' mono W. 63rd that had been part of a sealed collection until the owners demise.....and it has a medium dish warp. The 'Open Sesame' from the same collection didn't. Difficult to say with absolute certainty but it's my understanding that it's okay to leave shrink on as long as you slit the openeing.
  5. There was a great cable show last night about the Red Piranha in Brazil when the rivers swell and the floodwaters beneath the egret nesting grounds team with life.
  6. Anyone looking to unload their japanese mini-lp copy (POCJ-9213)?
  7. Disc 5 of the Joe Pass set. I don't pull this one out much and really should. That 'Joy Spring' number w/Jim Hughart is a nice little tune for starters.......they've got a good groove going with that one.
  8. My admiration for Christo is growing. He's agreed to put his artistic flair to better use and string lights from the carrier's superstructure in such a way that they'll be able to play night golf in the Persian Gulf.
  9. Okay, have it your way. I wave my wand twice and "POOF!"....you're each now a case of Grolsch.
  10. Booby lives!! http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewI...4702364132&rd=1
  11. So Ghost of Miles & Catesta sold off a couple dozen Jenna Jameson DVDs in the 'offering' forum to scrape together some RVG money..what's the big deal? Tattle-tale. B-)
  12. Interesting little ripple effect that this is having. I added a copy to the Amazon Japan shopping cart yesterday (@ 1,500 Yen) and then left the cart sitting there 'open' overnight. This afternoon, when I went back to it and clicked 'refresh', a message popped up informing me that there had been a price change since the item was placed in the cart the previous day. It's now 1,600 Yen. Another reason not to leave a shopping cart 'open'.
  13. Yes, except that's not what I wanted to hear.
  14. Truthfully, I can't imagine anyone batting an eyelash. Well, guess I screwed up on that one. The Ethiopian computer tech I've dealt with for years just swung by the house a few minutes ago to fix something and I had Basra playing in the backround. He commented favorably and I then proceeded to briefly walk through the mini-brouhaha taking place over the title. Without hesitation, he said that the artist was probably making the correct choice at this time. The fact that it was a mere re-issue of a 40-year-old LP didn't matter......'not a good idea', he said.
  15. Chris, I dare say you've been fed a slew of false information as to the current whereabouts of your charming water purification specialist. Word is, she grew weary of satisfying her employers' demand that she snap hundreds of pics per day of the flapping orange Jell-Oish fabric and decided to head down here to take in a real work of art.
  16. I've now pretty much abandoned my second favorite sport. All that's left is Woods, Els & Goosen. Oh....and time for someone to toss an ancient Mayo jar and upgrade to one of those new plastic jobbers. B-)
  17. Well, look at the bright side.......that pretty much puts a halt to the transfer of those genius genes he's loaded with.
  18. The funny thing is the letter from Hackett to Clark Terry, apologizing for introducing Terry to folks as "Harold Baker". He must have been draining quarts of gin that night.
  19. I have the original 'Soulero' 7" record, enjoy it, and was thinking of picking up the Collectibles cd in order to get the two tracks ('Makin' Whoopee', 'Django') not on the record ----- until, that is, I heard the clips from the Hubert Laws cd that's paired with it. Think I'd walk into oncoming traffic if I had listen to 'No More'..and some others immediately after Higgins. This seems like a very strange pairing indeed. Geez, maybe Blue Note'll follow their lead and put "Leapin' and Lopin" together with Black Flag's "Damaged" as a two-fer. http://shopping.yahoo.com/p:Soulero%2FLaws...2VjA2FydHByb2Q-
  20. Yeah, seriously!! As a matter of fact, the new Pres/CEO of the National Music Publishers Association is a former top Ashcroft Lt. over at Justice who makes your average scheming, treacherous, D.C. cut-throat look like Shirley Temple. Someone told me about this at a dinner last night and I broke out laughing because I thought it was a joke. I'd been under the impression that he was looking to represent the American Association of Electric Chair & Guillotine Manufacturers for a tidy $500 k annual. http://www.nmpa.org/nmpa.html
