has anyone else noticed the sealed blue note cd's in long boxes being sold by "dalpup." he seems to have found at least 1 copy of every blue note title released in the 80's. he's included pictures and they all come in original blue not long boxes. where in the world would somebody find every title sealed in a long box? 236 titles in the last month alone.

Looking for "Nights at the Keystone V.3"
kulu se mama replied to Abution II's topic in Offering and Looking For...
happy to report that i did receive my money. apparently it takes a lot longer to get paid than half leads you to believe. they deposit on the 15th and 31st, but they state it could take 7 additional days. then they also say that it can take up to 3 more business days for it to show up in my account. well, they deposited on 10/31 add 7 days and it's 11/7, then add 3 business days not counting saturday, sunday, and verteran's day, and you get 11/12. the next deposit is scheduled for 11/15, considering weekends and holidays, i might have it in time for christmas. one complaint i have about ebay/half is that for a multi-billion dollar company - they are impossible to contact. they should at the very least have an 800 customer service number. you can finally email them, once you log through about 10 pages of "help." after answer question after question, you finally get to a page that says, "i am still having a problem - contact customer service." considering the money they are making off of seller's - it should be a lot easier/quicker. -
Looking for "Nights at the Keystone V.3"

actually i was joking about being called a wacko. it just doesn't come across that way in writing, and i'm not too swift with the smileys. what i like about half.com is i can put anything i want at any price and just let it sit there. i can continue to listen to it until someone comes along and pays my price. if no one ever pays my price then i am out nothing. i do have 1 (big) problem with half.com, and i hope someone can help me. i made my first sales in october, and they were supposed to deposit a few hundred dollars in my checking accont on 11/7. their records are showing that the money has been deposited, but i have not received the money. i have checked their site and there is no customer service/contact info on the site anyweher. i can use any help anyone might be able to give. thanks bob -

i'd prefer not to be called a wacko on a board i visit daily. -
this is unfortunate news. this ismy favorite progressive big band. i agree with lon - whatever she decides to do will be wonderful. i've only made 2 suggestions to mosaic, and 1 is "the complete rca recordings of the toshiko akiyoshi - lew tabackin big band." wonderful stuff. if anyone is interested - i have an extra copy of the novus compilation. it includes 8 songs (1 from "insight," 3 from "long yellow road," 3 from "road time," and 1 from "kogun.")

no way. i've been out cd shopping all morning, and i finally picked up a copy of "figure 8." i just signed on the computer for the first time today, and i was going to listen to music while i check my emails. figure 8 is going on right now. the first time i saw or heard of him was the oscars a few years ago when he had a song nominated from "good will hunting." very sad news.

the last time my wife and i went we found a great restaurant in greenwich village. Pesce Pasta Trattoria at bleecker st. this was one of the best dining out experiences we've ever had. the place was cozy, noisy, cramped, and romantic all at the same time. when we left it was well after ten and all of the bakerys in the area were still open. it was fantastic.

jack mac made some very pointed remarks in the local paper. if you remember, he won 96 games with the reds in 1999 (only to lose a 1 game playoff to the mets - damn that al leiter - still the highest win total not to make the playoffs since the creation of the wildcard - but i digress). he said that he could be doing the same things here if management had only left them alone. he indicated that getting griffey, and allowing larkin and griffey free access to the gm ruined things. unfortunately that looks to be the case. i hate to say it, but go marlins.

The Individualism of Gil Evans

if i remember correctly there was a discussion about this title on the old bnbb. verve had it scheduled to be reissued as a 2 cd set with bonus songs, but it never came out. does anyone know the status of that reissue? -
not on ebay, but the last time the wife and i went to new orleans i found an autographed copy of "lonesome blvd." by gerry mulligan. when i took it to the counter to pay i asked the store owner, "is that gerry mulligan's autograph?" he looked surprised, and answered, "i guess it is." i quickly paid before he could jack up the price.

this may have been discussed elsewhere, but what is up with the "red white and blues" segment. i purchased the cd on ebay after checking the song list on amazon. they list 2 new recordings by van morrison. i received the cd today, and the songs are mostly different. i double checked on tower, and they have the correct song list, but a different cover. the van morrison songs are nowhere to be found. what's up with that?

70's ROCK bands that changed in the early 80's...
kulu se mama replied to Rooster_Ties's topic in Miscellaneous Music
i've beevn listening to 2 of my favorite '80's albums all week. "the crossing" by big country and "this is the sea" by the waterboys. boy do those 2 bring back memories. particularly "the whole of the moon" and "chance." -
now that does sound like quite a deal. cd universe is very similar (175 + 7 shipping), and they take paypal.

has anyone found a good price for the complete sacd box. if so, please post it.

i am glad somebody brought these up. is there any reason to buy the new "solo monk" if i already own "the complete columbia solo studio recordings?"
-
does anyone have any info on this cd. i saw this at a local record store today. i noticed that it is on verve, but it does not seem to be included in the complete verve box. what's up with that?

Not offering, not looking for...

i have an extra sealed copy of "blowin' in from chicago" that i did not find until after the rvg was released. doh! -
a few that have been mentioned - "betty blue," "apocalypse now," "casablanca," and a couple that have not been mentioned, "the stunt man" with peter o'toole, and "big" with tom hanks is a seriously underrated film.

well i finally got the one mosaic i was missing - the ike quebec / john hardee. i was on vacation last week, so i was able to stay up late after my wife went to bed. i was on the computer on wednesday night, and i decided to check ebay before i shut the thing down. it's 12:30 eastern time, and the quebec/hardee had been listed 11 minutes prior with a "buy it now" of $140! i couldn't believe my eyes. i was so excited / nervous, that i actually became slightly dizzy. i immediately jumped on it. the set arrived today - yippee! keep in mind that a copy of this set sold for over $300 just a few days prior.

i have a copy of jungle music i can sell.

Looking for some good humorous novels

glad to see vonnegut on this list. i was going to recommend "confederacy of dunces," but it's by john kennedy o'toole. unfortunately he commit suicide before the book was published. his mother took it upon herself to get the book published (his first), and it went on to win the pulitzer prize. -
