  3. intersting that AI get 14 games to work without Carmelo. AI should be playing as hard as ever, Melo is gonna have a bit of trouble getting his team back. Philly should have been able to get alittle more. Obviously. Would have loved to see AI with KG.
  4. How old is the cd/dvd player? Are you finalizing the disc?
  5. He is no Darko, but ill take him. He'll be a nice bench play, borderline starter, for years to come in this league. Alot of intensity, a bit too much at times. He gets a hold of the ball and doesnt want to let go.
  6. Plenty of amazing players have found themselves on poor teams. The GM is responsible for having his team compete as well. Are you telling me you Chris Bosh is suddenly a terrible player because of his team? Is there any player in the league (especially any guard) who would turn the 76ers into a playoff team? I dont think so.
  7. Baron Davis career numbers: .408 fg%, 7.1 ast Allen Iverson: .421 fg%, 6.1 ast And Iverson spent most of those years as a SG. At point AI always averaged over 7 assists. Yes his team sucks. Trade him straight up for any other player in the league, and the 76ers would still suck. Thats not his fault. Im not saying he doesnt have baggage, or that he doesnt shoot too much, but he is still an elite player. Better than everyone of the Warriors, and everyone but Dirk on the Mavs. To call him a chucker or overrated is just plain insane. NOBODY in the league has the heart and the drive that he does. If he was 6'4'' or taller, he would be damn near the greatest to ever play the game. And he would instantly make the Warriors a better team, and give Dallas the pair of balls that they need. The man averaged 33 pts, 7.4 ast, and 1.9 steals, on 45% shooting last year. While playing 43 minutes a game. Those are absolutely insane numbers. He is UNDERRATED. Especially by you old fogeys :-)
  8. Trading Biedrins would be insane. Otherwise, thats a GREAT trade for golden state. They should trade any two players on their roster for him. For anyone else who foolishly doesnt want iverson: http://sports.espn.go.com/espn/page2/story...=simmons/061213
  9. Chris posted these NYT op-eds as a public service to members who did not have full access to those editorials! Great, where can I upload my Organissimo recordings as a public service for the people who dont have full acces to them?
  10. Point proven. Thanks, Scott!
  11. I disagree, but he certainly has not been mean in any way. The lefties have exhibited far worse behavior on occasion. Its amazing to look at the politics forum at AAJ. The entire thing is NYT op-eds. Most of which arent that insightful anyways. I would take news articles and book over Op-Eds everyday of the week. I never understood why Chris was so enamored of them.
  12. I do love me some Chipotle burritos. Wish they had them out in PA. I one a pair of pretty good BB King tickets a few years back as the 25th caller. BB is always a good show. The lady friend won a necklace and a couple gift certificates for her Mom for some mothers day contest where she had to say why she though her mom deserved to be pampered. She was a bit liberal with the truth on that one. Apparently it was a pretty nice necklace.
  13. How about Sangrey? He only has 5 posts today! Are you ok Jim?!?! Sad to see Albertson go. I would have preferred to see him participate more in the music sections of the board though.
  14. Like everyone else, I am morally opposed to this travesty of an idea. It is essentially musical necrophilia, pick through the dead remnants of the most important recordings in history. But GODDAMN it sounds great. Very interesting, and does a great job of maintining the integrity of the original recordings. The opening 'Because' is a capella and just plain gorgeous. Highly recommended (even though im only on halfway through so far...) I am positively giddy to hear the other remasters they intend on doing. I love this album
  15. If Pheonix can keep dropping 161 on opponents, that wont matter. They say it takes about two years to come back. Amare seems ahead of schedule right now. But yeah, it would be nice to see him at 100%, because he can dominate a game like no one has since Shaq.
  16. That is pretty funny. Its also so unblievably by far the best record nominated in that category. I know its obvious, but you have to so completely and utterly out of touch with everything that has ever been considered music to nominate 'My Humps.' Not shocking, but it damn well should be.
  17. I'd like to throw in peace & understanding. Thats pretty funny. I didn't mean for it to be funny. I know, I was just throwing out a softball for someone. Congrats to Jazzmoose for hitting it out of the park!
  18. I'd like to throw in peace & understanding. Thats pretty funny.
  19. besides friends and family: Scorcese, Coen Bros, PT Anderson, Kubrick. Miles 55-75 Fresh guacamole warm tortillas Indian buffets Democracy Chauncey Billups' free throw all guitars Jason Moran Radiohead Tom Waits
  20. No, lame is losing to Portland.
  21. That is an amazing episode. Probably the quintessential CYE.
  22. For example, some torrent sites offer commercially available music. Top 5 from another site: Thelonious Monk Quartet with John Coltrane - At Carnegie Hall - 3,542 Medeski Scofield Martin & Wood - Out Louder - 2,409 Roisin Murphy - Ruby Blue - 1,813 (who?!?) Miles Davis - Bitches Brew - 1,642 Miles Davis - Kind Of Blue - 1,466
  23. 6.99 is stll great, under most used prices. I think id bail out at 7.99 though. Might pick up a box set or two that i havent gotten around to.
  24. I find it disgusting that the American educational system is brought into this. There is nothing wrong with the system, only the the culture of learning that exists in all levels in America. Learning is not considered important, and it is something that young Americans pick up on, and it is something that teachers must battle with every day.
