  1. {{{sigh}}} With fiends like you guys, I'll never need an enema.... The way this game is going.... my scissors are ready!
  2. That was some gut check. That kid may not be able to grow much of mustache, but he sure came through in epic fashion. What a curve! I hope it leaks out what Washington was saying when he went out to get Derek Holland. During the post-game interview, Holland said that he basically begged Wash to let him stay out there, that if he couldn't get the next guy on a double-play it'd be okay to bring in Feliz but please please please PLEASE let me stay out here! That's why Wash kept shaking his head no. Holland went on to say that Wash said if Holland got on his knees & begged, he'd let him stay in. I guess that really IS the way baseball go! In all seriousness, major props to the Rangers for stepping up to the challenge and conquering it in Mavs-like fashion. Gonna enjoy the moment while it lasts because tomorrow's game is gonna be a major gut-check for BOTH teams, especially with CJ returning to the mound. All I know is this: the kid with the acne problem single-handedly saved this World Series for the Rangers. For now, anyway. Thank you, Derek Holland. Holland also saved the bullpen . By going 8 1/3, he lets the bullpen get a night of rest so they're fresh for tonight's game, then with the travel day they get another day of rest. Young man was DEALIN'! He had only three balls hit out of the infield- amazing aginst that lineup. :tup :tup

  5. Hubert Laws IN THE BEGINNING Love the remaster, but I LOVE the vinyl!

  7. I'll take a download and the one on the right. Thanks! DL for me and the one in the middle, please! Thanks!
  8. I just hope that last night provides the kind of gut check similar to the Mavs game 2 loss to Portland on their way to their championship.
  9. Al, remember the Yankees-Braves WS of 1996???? http://www.baseball-reference.com/postseason/1996_WS.shtml Brave beat the piss out of the Yankees in game one, 12-1, at Yankee Stadium. Braves shut out the Yankees in game 2, 4-0 at Yankee Stadium again, of course. So to recap, braves outscored the Yanks at home, 16-1. Up 2-0 in series, headed to Atlanta. Yankees then won 3 in the ATL, then went back to NY to win their 4th straight game....so don't count out your team just yet! Both bullpens are overworked.... Don't count out my team? But, that would mean being positive about them. This old dog is having trouble learning new tricks. Plus, I refuse to have my heart broken again. But.... I'm a fan, so the heartbreak is inevitable. I'm just venting now to ease the pain.
  10. Changed my mind, PM coming on these instead: Junior Mance & Orchestra - That Lovin' Feelin' (OJC) $5 Nat Adderley - Sayin Somethin/Live at Memory lane (Collectables) $6 Idris Muhammad - Legends of Acid Jazz (OJC) $5 James Clay - Double Dose of Soul (OJC) $5 Gil Evans & Ten (Fantasy/OJC SACD version) $10
  11. You bet I'm kicking myself, since I watched the game-tying extra point but then switched back to the misery of the Rangers game. I already knew how that was gonna end, I shoulda left the football game on....
  12. Gutless. No other word for tonight. And if they don't get their shit together, there's gonna be another World Series victory celebration in Arlington come Monday night. I expect nothing more from this team, because THAT is the team I know.
  13. But it's the defense that's killing them tonight! Against a team that made the playoffs on the last day of the regular season! As the Wild Card! In front of the home crowd!!! This could be the biggest disappointment of the Rangers existence!
  14. PM coming on: Nat Adderley - Sayin Somethin/Live at Memory lane (Collectables) $6 Idris Muhammad - Legends of Acid Jazz (OJC) $5 James Clay - Double Dose of Soul (OJC) $5 Howard Rumsey's Lighthouse All-Stars vol 2 - Sunday Jazz a la Lighthouse (OJC) $8
  15. Good God, how the hell did this team get to the World Series? Let alone the playoffs!
  16. Of course, it also helps if Kinsler makes the bleeping throw....
  17. Um.... thanks? I don't know who it is, but I was definitely picking ON the guy! Since he's been identified finding his famous sideman should explain this Wow, if that is Joe, then yes that DEFINITELY explains a lot!
  18. His estate will still profit though won't they? Miles' son/nephew/whoever will make sure of that.
  19. Actually, the Giants were up 2-0 coming back to TX, the Rangers won game 3, and that was the last game they won all season. While I don't think the Cards will sweep the Rangers at home (although it could happen), I don't see them losing this series in TX either (if at all). The Rangers bats in 2011 are no louder than they were in 2010. Hopefully the return of the DH rule for the games in TX helps, but uh.... who the hell they gonna designate to hit when freakin' NOBODY is hitting????
  20. Well, I'm glad you guys think so. Me personally, I feel like I'm watching a bad rerun of the 2010 Series.
  21. I'm surprised as well, because this guy actually IS one of my sacred cows! A little embarrassed to say the least! Um.... thanks? I don't know who it is, but I was definitely picking ON the guy! FWIW, the Ogerman comparison was a positive one. I generally love Claus Ogerman, particularly his work with Antonio Carlos Jobim and Wes Montgomery (but not so much his work with George Benson). And yes, I do love a good electric piano!
  22. Same here from this Rangers fan. This Series has the potential to be legendary, with the winner being talked about for years to come.
  23. ARod deserves to be on as many lists as Milton Bradley, AFAIC.
