  1. I hate auditions. I don't like the whole college music scene, or high school for that matter.
  2. Very nice. I like the guitar player!
  3. Skin flute. You'd be surprised.
  4. Goin to pick up the vibes tonight!
  5. I'm actually taking the money, out of my bank account.

    MICHAEL BRECKER

I just found out today. Bummer.
  9. I want recordings from that group!
  10. Easy to find I mean.
  11. Yes, I emailed him last night. He replied. The vibes look great. There is another set on ebay with a missing low F key and I think I G# or A#. Are vibraphone bars easy to replace?
  12. Yes. Are they sold or what? It's been a while...
  13. If you're thinking about making money with music, I know people who couldn't make it playing instruments like guitar and sax, then picked up bass and made a living. There are practically NO bass players out there! I'm a drummer, and I still have trouble gigging. It's tough. But all in all, play whatever you want. Making a lot of money doing something you don't want to do is worse than Playing an instrument you like and not working.

    Shorty Rogers

I never really new much about Rogers and his music other than his arrangements on a couple Herb Alpert records. I saw him on Jazz Shots from the West Coast, and I loved him. I would like some biographical info and music recommendations. All help appreciated.
  15. Forget sax. Play bass.
  16. I think I tunes is pretty good, though I'd rather have the whole cd with the liner notes. I have to check out Emusic. You say it's cheaper?

    Pete Jolly

What a fantastic pianist! I have his Give a Damn lp. I like it a lot. I especially love his playing. He swings and is very nice to listen to. In that respect he's similar to Guaraldi. My two favorite pianists. I want to get Herb Alpert Presents Pete Jolly, as well as all his other albums. Anybody heard some of those?
  18. Wow, that is ironic. On Saturday, (yesterday) I got into a car accident too. I was coming back from a model train show in New Jersey. My dad was driving, I was in the back and two of his friends were in the car. The car behind us lost his brakes, bumped into us real hard then slammed us into the divider on the Southern State Parkway. Not that much damage, but it was a really big bump. I saw my life flash before my eyes, and the whole rest of the day, I couldn't get it off my mind. One of my dad's friends had to go to the hospital, but everyone else was okay. I thought the car was going to flip over, but thanks to my dad's excellent driving skills, he kept the car under control. A very bad ending to an otherwise great day. The show was great, and it was warm as hell. A high of 73 in January!
  19. Danielle, just chill out. You have a lot to learn! You can't treat this board like you're instant messenging to your friends. People will get mad, and if you respond to every negative post thrown at you, you'll go crazy.
  20. Danielle, what did you think of Waiting for the Boogaloo Sisters? :rsmile:
  21. I like Some Guy, he's a good compoer!
  22. I think most of her peers like gangsta rap. I mean what's not to love!?!?!
  23. The middle part to that Herbie Hancock tune we were discussing is the best part. Maybe the reason why so many people don't play the whole tune is because mostly smooth jazz players play it.
  24. No!!!! Why are you always wrong..... alot
  25. It's like a test, to see if you're strong enough to be apart of the organissimo forums!
