Thanks everybody! I'm taking it easy today, I guess. Listening to Ron Carter's All Blues album, then playing a duet with my bass player for my family, then jamming with one of the best guitarists in New York. Catcha later! And thanks again for the birthday wishes!

Just purchased Turrentine's The Sugar Man. Was wondering if this is a compilation. And the second song on side one is The Stretch, but I hear a rhodes, and there is no piano player listed for this track. Just an organist, and I don't hear an organ. Anybody know?
I really love Kenny Burrell. First of all, he's got the best tone in jazz guitar history. (IMO) Plus his albums were very consisted. (I can't stand some of his newer stuff) They were usually a mix of familiar tunes, and nice originals. I came across some good Burrell cuts recently. Among them they were Groovin High and Moon & Sand. However, this one stands out.
My local vinyl shop has recently had a bunch of Mastersounds lp's for 8 dollars each. For some reason, I thought Wes was a part of this group, but anyway, it's just as good. I picked up Ballads and Blues. I never heard an electric bassist play so clean! I never heard Buddy and Monk before and I heard about the group so I bought it. It was pretty good. Any other fans out there?
The auction has ended for this one, but perhaps I might look for it, the next time I shop for wax, which should be soon. Does he play the rhodes on this one?
I've been on a Walton kick lately too. I first really got into him after listening to a Milt Jackson double album, live on Pablo records with Ray Brown and Billy Higgins. I was wondering if there are any other recordings of him playing the rhodes.
Yeah, I'm pretty happy too. Just graduated high school. Got no job, no car, no girl. But it's still great! Listening to music, and watching Twilight Zones. What more can you ask for?!?! Damn, I know I'm gonna have to get a job soon.

I saw Redd a few weeks ago at the Jazz Kitchen in Indy. The show was a blast and he's a great guy. I got some really nice photos and then my kazillion dollar camera expired on me....but the show was cool.
m~
ps, the camera has been repaired!
That's really cool.
