part of the rear of that CD showing the Dale releases 4 titles with 2 parts each - i presume that would have been the tracks from the 10" version but which of these were on the EP - all part I's? (as you said Mike, you'd need to listen). Is part 2 an alternate take of part 1 as some discographies suggest or are they continuations from part 1?

Here's the 7" EP list - from the back cover of a Dale EP EP's 200/201 made up 10" LP 21 EP's 202/203 made up 10" LP 23 EP 204 made up 10" LP 22 (only 4 tracks) but each track was divided into parts 1 & 2 (ie double the length) for the LP version EP's 205/206 made up 10" LP 25 EP's 208/209 made up 10" LP 24 (Wardell Gray/John Hardee) Did EP 207 (Al Haig Trio) ever make it to 10"?

I don't think the Quinichette Dale 10" (LP-22) was ever released though half of the material was released on Dale EP-204 https://www.ebay.com/itm/353479182354

All of the tracks (8)(Storyville Oct/Nov 51), from this 10" (& the 2 EPs, #205/206) were released on the Billie Holiday ESP 4CD set "Rare Live Recordings 1934-59". Actually, 15 tracks from this location & similar time period were released in this set. BTW, Stan only plays on 3 tracks.

picked up the Shorty Rogers, Stuff Smith, Teagarden Roulette sets all CD plus the Ammons/Lux Lewis LP box over the past couple of years for good prices. Those Basie Roulette boxes are in the cream of the crop of Mosaic sets IMHO

almost double that price in australian$ (405 via Amazon) - our $ is currently tanking. Looks tempting as I only have her early output (first 5 or 6 LPs) on vinyl picked up many years ago. Hugely influential musician IMHO - one of my fav vocalists

was very happy with their CD box set reissue program - picked up many of them though would have been over the moon with three more potential sets (that never eventuated), Billy Bang, Leroy Jenkins & Glenn Spearman

23 of the 85 tracks are Jimmy Rushing vocals whilst Joe Williams sings on 3 tracks

Buddy Tate (28 tracks) has the lion's share followed by Sam Margolis (8 tracks ts & cl), Lucky Thompson (6 tracks), Coleman Hawkins (5 tracks), Frank Wess (4 tracks ts & fl), Frank Foster (4 tracks with Frank Wess) also on alto we have Earle Warren (12 tracks including 5 with Coleman Hawkins), Pete Brown (4 tracks), Ben Richardosn as/cl (7 tracks), Rudy Powell, as/cl (10 tracks) BTW, the SQ is stunning - only listened to disc 1 so far & the opening bars of the first track just blew me away for audio quality

I have the complete concert plus speeches etc over 3CDrs that I made from files someone traded with me (or I found & downloaded online) a few years ago now

what a bummer!! Wonder how many full subscribers are out there who opted for the lot in one go (10 releases) & so far havn't received any yet (or never will?) I'm still hoping - not going to make a CC claim yet (if that's possible over here with a product purchased from the states). Maybe he'll renew his site over the next few days?

same here, i'm in the optimistic camp but unfortunately I asked for the whole batch to be sent as one shipment so I don't have any except for #1 (pre subscription)

The recent batch (12) of Japanese Solid BYG/Actuel CDs are actually the first 12 original releases for the label - hopefully they'll go down the Bethlehem (Solid CD reissues) path & gradually release all 52 original Actuel LP sessions. I received 6 (Greene, Lyons, Delcloo/Jones, Murray, Silva, Gong) from this batch a couple of days ago - very happy with SQ - are they needle drops? (probably but can't tell by listening). Interesting the sharing of similar US musicians between sessions that were temporally in close proximity ie members of AEC, Anthony Braxton, Archie Shepp, Grachan Moncur, Alan Silva, Sunny Murray ....) with a strong coterie of French/euro collaborators They've been remastered in Japan (CD liner notes) so not likely to be related to the UK BYG reissue program - I'd snap these up before they disappear as I get the impression that the more obscure titles will not be reissued by BYG UK who claim their recent CD reissues are from master tapes? I was under the impression that all their tapes were lost when their basement flooded in the 70s(?) - didn't Brownie know more details (previous thread)
