Hello. It's just come to my attention that, back on May 7, Brian Priestley was flavour of the month. Nice to know that people remember my work in the 1980s. I'm not sure who the 'more professional voice' was, unless you're thinking of Gilles Peterson, who survived a little longer on Radio London than I did.
If you want to catch up with my vocal (as opposed to written) contributions, it used to be that Radio 3's Jazz Library was the only possibility, about once every three or four months. However, I've just started doing a fairly straight-ahead one-hour show each week on my local station in the West of Ireland, Radio Kerry. And yes, they are available on the web at www.radiokerry.ie. It's currently on Wednesday evenings, 2100-2200 BST.
Someone wrote the other day from Canada, saying it was the best radio signal they got from anywhere in the world. If you can give any feedback to the station itself (requests@radiokerry.ie) that will help me get the slot established and more permanent in their output.
