  1. Really? I'm sure I'm in the minority but that recording never moved me much. To each his own I guess but I hope I never get stuck on an island with you.
  2. OK, I'd be willing to trade "Roots & Herbs" or "The Witch Doctor" but neither of these are RVG remasters. Let me know if you're interested.
  3. I'd be interested in trading possibly. I have several Blakey Blue Notes but not all are RVG. Any thing specific you are looking for?
  4. Payment sent on Konitz disc. Thanks!
  5. I'm interested in Lee Konitz Meets Mulligan Pacific $4. Is it still available? Thanks.
  6. I encode at 160 Kbs and currently have about 24,000 songs on my Ipod classic 160 GB with approx. 43 GB remaining.
  7. I enjoy my ipod for the convenience but 95% of the music on it is CD sourced from my collection. Also, I still enjoy listening to vinyl when I have the time but my collection is pretty thin.
  8. I've never heard him but agree that this is a great shot!
  9. Thanks again everyone! I was able to track down the OOP Chrono Classics disc and Mosiac Select #30 through inter-library loan!
  10. Thanks everyone! There's some great info here to get me started. I really appreciate your comments.
  11. I've read numerous posts about some late 30s small group sessions that James was a part of but i can't seem to find any specific info. Can anyone help me out?
  12. I do enjoy his VSOP album alot.
  13. Thanks! Yep, it is listed in the liner notes. I wanted to listen on my ipod yesterday but I was away from the CD! Hmmm, I never realized that was a Keynote session. IMO, those are the best tracks of both CDs.
  14. Regarding that "Kansas City Memories" compilation, can anyone tell me off hand which disk/tracks are from the Keynote session(s)? Thanks!
  15. Thanks Jazztrain. It occured to me that some of the sessions may have been issued on various compilations CDs, too. I don't know for sure but I am thinking of the Classics series in particular.
  16. Sorry Steve, I meant reissued on compact disc. Correct me if I'm wrong but I am pretty sure that the LP set has it all.
  17. I believe that if Mosaic would reissue this it would be one of the best projects they have ever undertaken. The LPs contain some of the absolute best small group swing of the era. Don't get me wrong, the CDs that were reissued are fantastic but as mentioned, there are still hours of music from that label that hasn't been properly re-released or released at all. I did manage to track down the LP set a few years ago through the library system (God bless the LIBRARIES!!) but I'd still purchase a reissue if Mosaic could pull the trigger. It would be great to have the entire label's output in one set and remastered to boot! FYI, here is King Ubu's post with the full discography: Keynote Discography
  18. Ebay charges a listing fee that can be anywhere from 50 cents to several dollars depending on how fancy you get (ie, number of photos, etc.). They also now charge the seller 9% of the final selling price which is steep IMO. It used to be that as a seller you could put down whatever you wanted for shipping but now you must designate what shipping method you use. I liked it better before when i could just charge a flat rate and know that I would be covering all of my expenses.
  19. Just a heads up, i am offering my copy of the most recent Johnny Hodges Mosaic box on ebay. If you missed this one, here's your second chance! I have listed it for what i feel to be a fair price for a great set in near mint condition and I am providing FREE shipping. Check it out... Mosaic Johnny Hodges 1956-61
  20. I figured I'd see if I could sell this here before going to the bay. This is set is like new, and each disc has been played exactly one time. It's just a little bit beyond the scope of what I usually enjoy musically. I'd like to get $60 for it plus $8 for s/h via USPS Priority in the USA. Paypal only, please. I'd also entertain trading this for a different Mosaic Select title in comparable condition. I'm interested in the Art Pepper, Cooper/Shank, Bechet, Pacific Trios, and Boogie Woogie Piano sets specifically but will entertain other offers. What have you got? Please PM if you're interested. Thanks.
  21. How do you pronounce Bob's last name? Does it sound like bush or rush?
  22. Thanks, Tom. I really appreciate it. I was hoping for a track by track breakdown with the musicians and recording dates for each selection. I am sure the book provided this but since I didn't get a book, I'm missing out on this info. I really just want it for my own satisfaction. Does anyone else own this set and feel like scanning the discography and maybe saving them as a PDF for me? I would be willing to trade something cool for this info.
