  1. Today, there was a 50-70% sale - the 70% mostly fell in the rap section. Most of the stuff I wanted doesn't get bought here in this city, so I was still able to bring home a hefty number of discs - about $500 worth cut in half or better - too many to list...and I didn't even try looking upstairs! I've decided that my ritual of having dinner nearby and stopping by Tower afterwards can now transfer to the relatively new Borders nearby - better prices, especially with coupons, and a more comfortable atmosphere. Maybe I'm just getting old...
  2. Yes! I have the only gas-lit lamplight in the neighborhood (but you'd hardly notice 'cause I have to clean the glass - after I change the two mantles inside). I have a sneaking suspicion that your statement has some kind of meaning that I'm missing...
  3. No music yet, but since it's been in the 80's here (upper 20's C), we had the chance to give our house a radioactive glow.
  4. Wow! I find it amazing that this is OOP - it was on Bar-None, I think and you could find it everywhere last year. I have the disc tucked away somewhere, but I've put nearly all of my Xmas stuff on a few DVDs that I have easier access to. Does this person just want to hear what it sounds like? Rod
  5. Ho Ho Homies
  6. I've got these. You won't be disappointed. I'm guessing that you may already have most of these on LP? If you want to explore further, there's a wonderful series on the Italian label Felmay.
  7. Giving yourself musical abilities thru video editing: Lasse Gjertsen - Amateur
  8. Dan? Have you had your coffee this morning?
  9. "Have you ever come across a name on the Dead or Alive? site of someone who has died, especially one of your childhood heroes, and realized that you've now been alive longer than they were? It can be an odd experience. To find out which famous people you've passed in longevity most recently, and who you might pass next, use the form below. Enter your exact birth date and click Search." Try all 3 fame levels
  10. Play that air guitar! (with video demo)
  11. The video for that Bill Burroughs text is wonderful. I'm sure it can be found out there somewhere and I don't know where it is in this house... ...so you'll hafta settle for this audio ditty: Happy Thanksgrilling
  12. Yes, many blessings sent to Lon and his wife for the holidays. If I'm finally caught up with emails, I'll be working on either revising a piano work or monkeying around with software and sound for a French concert coming up.
  13. You're always on top of things!
  14. "Wrecking Crews Begin Demolition On Denton's Fry Street" BTW - Bud Gillette's a huge Don Ellis fan!
  15. Heard this humorous, as always, interview with him on the way home today: Waits on NPR
  16. I had the first batch of these (a bit different than the ones at the link) and was very satisfied with them. They weren't shielded tho, so place them all at a great distance away from your monitor. The second version (at the link) look the same, but they now have ”capacitance touch“ control buttons. Don't have them any longer 'cause I needed something more - tho they were great for most listeners I think - good bass from the floor standing dome that surprised visitors.
  17. Here ya go MG....... Fine stuff at cheeepy prices: Knock yerself out!
  18. Beatles Medley "A bunch of Liverpudlians Londoners (mostly elderly), on the street, singing various Beatles songs, strung together with some musical backing added. From the "James Paul McCartney" TV Special Broadcast: April 16th 1973."
  19. Notice the diet(s): http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ana_Carolina_Reston Ana Carolina Reston Macan (1985 – November 14, 2006) was a Brazilian model. She was born to a middle class family in Jundiai, on the outskirts of São Paulo. Reston began her modeling career at the age of 13 after winning a local beauty contest in her hometown. She was represented by reknowned modeling agencies such as Ford, Elite and L'Equipe in countries such as China, Turkey, Mexico, and Japan, including prestigious ad campaigns such as Giorgio Armani. She weighed only 40 kilograms (88 lbs.) and had been hospitalized since October 25 for kidney malfunction due to anorexia nervosa and bulimia, which included a diet of only eating apples and tomatoes. Her condition became more serious and deteriorated into generalized infection that led to her death at the age of 21. At the time of death she weighed just over 36 kilograms (80 pounds). She was the second anorexic model reported to have died in 2006. Luisel Ramos, 22, suffered a heart attack in August after living on lettuce leaves and Diet Coke for three months.
  20. Did he have much to say?
  21. Ileck is 25. Sad nonetheless...
  22. The website is for the 28 year old Ana Carolina da Fonseca. I'm thinking that it's a different model altogether.
  23. You're probably thinking of "666". See the book of Revelation. Nope, Revelation doesn't bother me. I'm thinking of something more horrific: 777 (check: Aleister Crowley).
