  1. Howdy Doody? Man, Lon you are so showing your age!
  2. My box was rusted when I bought it. While the packaging might change with age, the music is TIMELESS!!
  3. If you pre-ordered them from CD Universe, a couple of weeks ago, you could have gotten them for $8.39 plus shipping.
  4. Best Wishes Lon. Thanks for your help and guidance!!
  5. I'm with Lon on the Keynote set. I'd also like to see a set featuring the Verve Recordings of Jimmy Giuffre. Also maybe some kind of set featuring Barney Wilen's work. His stuff fades in and out of circulation so fast, that its hard to keep track of just what is available. How about a set of the Toshiko Akiyoshi/Lew Tabackin Big Band? To have all that great music collected together would be fabulous! And just to be a little more greedy, how about some sort of set spotlighting Tommy Flannagan. I think he's one artist that we never discuss here and perhaps should!
  6. Don't see this one discussed much. I dusted it off the shelf recently and must say its one fantastic set. Incredible piano and his talent for interaction with his sidemen is just beautiful. Can't find a bland track in the whole set. Don't let this one slip by!
  7. I prefer to wake up gently to the glorious sound of Ethel Merman's Version of "There's No Business Like Show Business"
  8. Many of those RCA albums have been released on cd in Spain. They were featured in a recent flyer from that Jazz Messanger outfit.
  9. Better make that Mid-August for the Miles Blackhawk vinyl set!
  10. I wouldn't think so. On the back of this one it says "If you aren't on our mailing list and would like to receive our Full Size Mosaic brochure with more complete descriptions of the sets, please give us a call or request one through our website"
  11. Without question, the Quebec/Hardee cd set. It took almost three years to find.
  12. What a great idea to introduce new customers to the Mosaic Records Company. This digest sized mailer reminds me of the mailings that Mosaic did a long time ago. Its really well done and I hope that it stirs some additional interest so that Mosaic will be able to continue bringing us some of the greatest music ever recorded!! P.S. I meant brochure in the topic
  13. You really can't go wrong with either set and its a sweet time for that promotion!
  14. hey Weizen, how many times are you going to sell that "Money Jungle" cd anyway?
  15. Got my pre-order in too. don't think that we'll be seeing many new Mosaics on vinyl in the near futrue. Maybe if this sells okay it may show them that there is still some kind of market for vinyl sets. P.S. Thanks for all the kind words to those people wishing me well on my cancer therapy. I really appreciate it.
  16. I'm becoming unhinged myself! I thought that the vinyl version of the Miles-Blackhawk set was due out from Mosiaic this month. The upcoming release option is missing from the Mosaic website, what's up with that?
  17. Lunch? How many Mosaic sets can YOU eat?
  18. Just received another one of George Buck's releases of the Famous Door label featuring Red Norvo, "Vibes A La Red". Features Hank Jones and Jimmy Rowles. I really dig Red Norvo and this recording is a great addition to his discography.
  19. Thanks for the memories. What a funny show by the creators of the great Sgt Bilko/Phil Silvers Show and featuring a lot of those low comedians that populated the Bilko series including the great Joe E. Ross. The woman who played his wife had to be one of the ugliest women ever to apprear on network television. I dare you to post her picture here. Maybe not, because I'm sure that image might shatter a few monitor screens
  20. Could this person be related to Norah Jones by any chance?
  21. This whole concept is absurd. A company like Mosaic has to have strict inventory controls after all these years in business, unless they use gremlins as stockpeople, the odds of them misplacing ten box sets after all these years is pretty slim.
  22. I have to agree with the Spawn of Weizen on the Garland Prelude box. The packaging is sturdy and attractive and the music is sublime. I have always enjoyed Red Garland and this set is a real jewel!
  23. Man, that's some boozed-up bird with a jones for expensive beer to boot! Is his tongue robins' egg blue?
  24. doesn't mix well with the chemo! Thanks for the good cheer if I show up here a little on the bitchy side, its not the humidity. I'll be checking in on my good days! Best to All!!!
