  1. Sunday? Is that the Muskegon gig? I was thinking Tuesday. No problem, I will see you whenever.
  2. I was about to mention the "added benefit" of a JS essay, but I's been beat to the punch. The cd is just over 78 minutes of very fine Marsh.
  3. Thanks. Same free (non-domestic discounts apply) shipping deal.
  4. My current BMG offer puts this puppy in my house for a grand total of $34.76.
  5. I just ran a search on Bruyninckx and found him playing a "dixie" festival in Manassas, VA on December 3/4, 1977. These listings are with Billy Butterfield and Maxine Sullivan. The material was issued on Fat Cat.
  6. I have noticed Melvin before and remember your interest when you were here. Responding to your email publicly, the price is $15 and if you send a check I will cash it now - I need it (to make this happen, I just spent $2000 I don't have and want to send Warne's widow a check. If you send plastic info, I will hit the account when I ship. Legalities, or I'd hit it right now!
  7. Just went to my bookmarks, clicked on the site and it is gone. Maybe someone on the Saturn list has the email address.
  8. If nothing goes wrong ( ) my reissue of Warne Marsh's ALL MUSIC (plus bonus tracks) will be out the week of March 15. As I posted in another thread, we will be gone from March 5 - March 14. List members can order for the usual free US shipping (discounts for others). If interested, contact me at cnessa@earthlink.net.
  9. Ann and I will be spending a week in Williamsburg (March 6-13). We have never been to the area and are overwhelmed by the stuff we find by Googling. Any advice would be appreciated. If any list members are in the area, meetings would be nice too.
  10. Read the fucking book. Dr J spoke the truth. Take a chance, if you can stop typing. It must be in the library. You won't even have to pay the author!
  11. And yet peacocks, which have many plumes extruding from their posteriors, are considered quite dignified. Oh the irony. Peacocks can take a crap and keep the plumage.
  12. "On A Misty Night" is the main reason I'm happy it's only a quartet.
  13. Well, I got an enigmatic reply from Ira: "Ah, you see, I never mentioned a trumpet."
  14. And your choice of weapons?
  15. Where's the beer opener. Guess I will opt for the the Exabyte transfer since I can't locate the RVG master right now.
  16. I suggest starting with "Kenton Showcase". It is from the '53/54 era and has arrangements by Russo and Holman. This is a good example with some fine soloists. Then, if interested, move forwards and backwards - one step at a time.
  17. Please don't tell me you are still stuck with Detroit iron?
  18. Stick it in your ear.
  19. WHATEVER! This is a fine disc.
  20. So now we have a silly girl.
  21. Wow, that's not nearly as bad as I thought... And all the time I thought it was a typo of "puller" as in "pud puller".
  22. What a bunch of silly boys. The real cookie is the trefoil (aka shortbread). They melt in the mouth with a nice butter/sugar flavor. At Thanksgiving we bought 6 boxes from our step-grand-daughter (is that a word?) and left them in Buffalo. Damn!
  23. Alvin Fielder is a great guy, musician and pharmacist. What more could you want?
  24. I didn't get around to emailing Ira until about an hour ago. When I hear back I'll post the results.
