Lou was a sweetheart! Back in 1981 when I was chairman of the Chicago Jazz Festival, I put together a Jimmy Smith Jam and Lou was part of the band. Over rehearsals, sound check and performance I had occasion to introduce Lou to my 2 children at different times. When Lou met my second child, he chuckled and said "I feel much better now - this one is yours for sure".

As I said in the post, it is a cd version of an lp box they did 50 years ago. No duplication.

Faster than that!!

The new Charles Ives box prompted me to listen to this set and order the new cd version of an lp box I've had for 50 years It should be delivered tomorrow.

I had the pleasure of catching Johnny Board once a week at Andy's in Chicago circa 1977-1984, usually in tandem with Eddie Johnson.

I had the Columbia lp when issued and now have a Japanese cd with the extras you mention.

I'm having trouble hearing music today.

I think it is interesting they seem to have ignored the Michael Tilson Thomas series with the Concertgebouw and Chicago Symphony (4 cds).

They liked acrylic.
