Alfred Posted February 25, 2004 Report Posted February 25, 2004 Just noticed that the Tristano, Konitz & Marsh is on the "Running low" list, together with the "New Orleans sessions". The Blue Mitchell is now on the "Last Chance" list. Quote
king ubu Posted February 25, 2004 Report Posted February 25, 2004 Better get the Tristano/Konitz/Marsh fast! A great set (and the one that started my love affair with Mosaic records, my very first one ) I just got the New Orleans, and I really enjoy it. If you like musicians like George Lewis, this is a very nice one to have! ubu Quote
Alec Posted February 26, 2004 Report Posted February 26, 2004 I'm on the fence about the New Orleans Sessions, but I just needed an excuse to buy the Tristano/Konitz/Marsh, so it is ordered Now, who can talk me into the New Orleans Sessions! Quote
Big Wheel Posted February 26, 2004 Report Posted February 26, 2004 Oh, shit. Both the New Orleans and T/K/M sets are on my short list, but I have too big a backlog and too small a bank account to justify buying right now. Quote
PHILLYQ Posted February 26, 2004 Report Posted February 26, 2004 I think Mosaic should send a thank you card to this board for hyping the sales of the Blue Mitchell set- I bought one because of the raves here, but my backlog of unlistened discs is rather large now and I haven't even listened to it yet! Nice problem, right? Quote
Gary Posted February 26, 2004 Report Posted February 26, 2004 Thanks Alfred, I've just ordered the Tristano, Konitz & Marsh . Quote

garthsj Posted February 26, 2004 Report Posted February 26, 2004 Regarding the Blue Mitchell Mosaic set ... I delayed making a commitment because I already have about half of this material on CD ... but I pulled the trigger this morning.. As of 11:30 a.m. CT there were just 35 copies left! Now's the time .... or wait for an eBay copy! Garth, Houston. Quote
Upright Bill Posted February 26, 2004 Report Posted February 26, 2004 I finally caved in and just ordered the Blue Mitchell set. Youse guys are all responsible for this! Quote

Michel_M Posted February 26, 2004 Report Posted February 26, 2004 I think it's countdown time for the Mitchell set ... Some people remember the Flip Philipps/Charlie Ventura when, in a few hours, the set went from last chance to OOP ? Quote
Soulstation1 Posted February 26, 2004 Report Posted February 26, 2004 don't make me use this on you i will.................. ss1 Quote

Soulstation1 Posted March 1, 2004 Report Posted March 1, 2004 anyone get the mitchell discography from the website? thanks ss1 Quote
Upright Bill Posted March 1, 2004 Report Posted March 1, 2004 The Mitchell is gone! So I either got the last one or I'll get a nice letter explaining that I can't have it after all. Quote
Noj Posted March 1, 2004 Report Posted March 1, 2004 Since I just ordered the Mitchell a few nights ago (along with the Turrentine, my first two Mosaic sets), I will gladly trade cdrs of the Mitchell for cdrs of other OOP Mosaics if anyone missed out. Quote
jazzmessenger Posted March 1, 2004 Report Posted March 1, 2004 I just ordered the set yesterday and got a customer receipt/purchase confirmation this morning. I hope I will actually receive it. Quote
garthsj Posted March 2, 2004 Report Posted March 2, 2004 For what solace it brings, my Mitchell set arrived today (I am listening to it now), and there were 35 sets left when I ordered it last week. I wonder if the folks at Mosaic are aware of how influential this list can be in moving their merchandise? Maybe we can organize lower prices for "group purchases" of their sets... FAT CHANCE!! Garth, Houston. Quote
Upright Bill Posted March 3, 2004 Report Posted March 3, 2004 The Blue Mitchell arrived today. Number 3758. Quote
vibes Posted March 5, 2004 Report Posted March 5, 2004 I just got my Tristano/Konitz/Marsh set, and it's only #4153 out of 7500. Looks like this one is timing out pretty early on. I've got disc one on right now, and I like it. It swings more than I was expecting. Quote
