Show us your beautiful children.

This is Jaya, my almost 3 year old. She is already a book worm and music freak. Favorite non-kid music: Coltrane-the village vanguard recordings which interestingly enough I played a lot when she was in utero. Favorite book: Frog and Toad are Friends.

I don't mean to ignore the picture of Jaya. I don't have children. I do understand, however, those that who do have children, the children are very important to them. The way it should be, really.

The preceeding words have been a preamble to what I'm going to write next.

When I looked at the picture, I noticed the palm tree, the prickly pear cactus and the dirt in the background. I thought, to myself, that looks like somewhere in Tucson. I checked the notes under the avatar, to the left of the post, and there it is... Tucson freaking Arizona.

Yes, beautiful Tucson.

Palm=Phoenix canariensis

cactus= Opuntia ficus-indica

flowering shrub=Cassia artemesioides (now classified as a Senna)

heres another version of that photo:

Please do not take this the wrong way, but I am not that comfortable with people posting pictures of children on the web. I work with children and I guess it just made me a little uneasy.

Please do not take this the wrong way Che, but your post is unfair, and offensive towards the parents of this board that are proud of their babies and wish to share their happiness with other board member who are "friends" in some way.

Yes I was afraid that some might see it this way, and it was not my intention, but you know I work with sex offenders and they manipulate pictures that they get from the internet and you can imagine what they manipulate them into.

E-mails with pictures can be sent off-list, I have three children and would never dream of posting a picture of them on a general web site. In the end it is up to each parent, do forgive me if I caused offence. I just see a different world than some people.

I believe our departed friend makes a point that is not unworthy of consideration, at least.

It such a terrible thought. I don't even want to think about it. :(

The truth is that we aren't safe anywhere. Some whack-job could have a telephoto lens and be taking pictures of our kids.

Damn... you creeped me out... I'm deleting my previous post. :(

Edit: Thanks Sidewinder! I love that picture. He was only two and half at the time. :lol: Sorry to delete it, but maybe I'll repost it later with a Cat Shatner head on him. :D

Sorry, man, didn't mean to creep you out. But as I understand it, it's not uncommon for child pornograpers to take "normal" pictures off the net and turn them into something else entirely. Sad, sick, but true.

Hell, if they'll can put me in a lime green jacket, imagine what they'll do to a kid... :g:wacko::blink::alien:

It's cool. I'd rather play it safe.

Those green jackets were pretty stylish! :tup
